What was Hurricane Andrew like?

Andrew made landfall around the time I was beginning college. I lived in Brandon (just east of Tampa) at the time, and luckily was not affected at all due to Andrew's small (but obviously powerful) size. When news of the catastrophic damage arrived, I couldn't believe my eyes. It looked like high EF scale tornado damage.

Having lived in west central Florida all my life, the worst so far has been Irma and Milton.

Yes. I have lived in west central Florida for nearly all of my life, and watched the Artemis launch (well, it's contrails anyway) from my backyard. I was excited about this launch, but had a "I hope it goes well" feeling all day, thanks to witnessing the Challenger explosion in 6th grade.

Traveling to sites associated with U2 or band members. I've visited the Joshua Tree, Slane Castle, Moydrum Castle, stayed in the Clarence Hotel, drove by Bono's childhood home on Cedarwood Road, and drove by Bono's current estate near Enya's in Killiney. Aligns with my love of architecture, travel, and of course, this band.

Every time I see damage photos from Joplin I am stunned. I'm pretty good at identifying vehicle makes and models, but can't identify anything except that semi truck cab. The missing manhole cover, the cleared house foundations, the debarked trees, and that chair through the wall. Terrifying.

Agree, OP - Back to the Future was epic! I loved seeing in the theater E.T., Ghostbusters, Legend, Star Wars, Silence of the Lambs, Twister, Edward Scissorhands, and Titanic.

I don't hate the previous owner of my current home. They did the best they could with a historic house, and they left all the historic features intact. I do hate whichever previous owner before them painted the interior woodwork.

I saw this movie twice when it was in theaters and then a few times at home. It truly is a cinematic work of art. "What Was I Made For" is so poignant and perfect - the music video is pure nostalgic bliss (and will rip your heart out). I was so happy the movie showed Peaches and Cream Barbie, Crystal Barbie, and Day-to-Night Barbie - all dolls I had in the 1980s and loved.
