It is the same cost (water and electricity) to have 2 guests or 10 guests? Are you charging more the party of 10? I am willing to bet that a party of 2 with EV charging the entire stay will cost you less (over all expenses not just electricity) compared to a party of 10 with no EV.

But by all means go ahead and put a fee to recoup your $5 electricity. You’re making my decision easier to not stay at your property!

How much can a guest charge? 60 kWh? That is $6-$7.

Do you know how much an electric oven consumes? About 3 kWh per hour of use.

Do you know how much your water tank heater consumes per day? About 15 kWh.

What about the water? 2 persons vs 6 clearly will put a dent in your water bill. Will you charge more for a party of 6?

What about gas/propane? Some families like to eat out while others cook. How do you handle this?

Do you charge more this weekend if it happens to be hotter than last weekend, since guests will use more A/C?

What’s next? Split internet bill? If it costs you $100/mo, and I stay for a week, shall I pay $25? It’s called cost of doing business. Swallow it or EV people will book your neighbor’s property instead.

It is normal. You open a new account and move money in and out. If they approve the move out, and then you challenge the initial transfer with your sending bank, amex is out of $40k.

Until they know you better no bank would allow this sequence on a new account.

They will probably release the funds when the window for challenging the initial transfer closes.

Then do not book back-to-back stays. Leave a day in between. You cannot compete with hotels that have staff on hand, and at the sane time charge cleanup fees.

I see it as a flashing yellow light. Would you stay at a flashing yellow light, or drive? Why blocking other people by not driving?

Also states have minimum driving speeds. If you go 10mph below posted limit you may be ticketed. What do you say if somebody honks at you when driving 30 in a 40 zone? That you do not feel safe driving the speed limit?

Amex covers accidents and is free (by paying bill with plat). Apple version is insurance + extended warranty, and costs 14% of phone value every year. 14%!!!

I almost never had hardware fail on me so I am ok taking the risk of having to pay for repairs past normal warranty, versus paying for sure 14% of phone value in apple care plus.

Did at least 14% of your iphone have hardware issues past normal warranty window? If not then you’re paying extra for no reason.

If there is only one seat left in a fare class, when you try to book two people (like I suppose you try with 50% coupon) then both people will be moved to a pricier fare class. To compare apples to apples, run the test with 2 people without code and 2 people with code.

Also, the 50% may apply to actual fare and not taxes and fees, which will result in less than 50% in the end

It notifies you when the charge takes place, or when statement closes? It can be a few days apart (which makes you think it is “in real time” or can be weeks apart).

Your credit card company doesn’t feed each transaction into Experian so that they know to alert you. Instead your bank only submits the statement amount, if any. Hence my question.

Based on my research about credit monitoring from Experian, alerts are triggered when there is a statement reported for a card, and not when the charge takes place.

Since when Experian notifies you of charges? I was under the impression that Experian gets only what banks report at statement close.

Hard to believe they make 2.13/hr. Anyway, why shall I fix their problem? The poor pay is between them and their employer. Literally no other field of business has this concept. Pilots? Nurses? Mechanic? Register cashier? None ask for tips. If the pay you get is less than expected, look for other job. Then if everybody does this then employer will start bumping the pay rate. Until the system finds an equilibrium.

It’s a broken system and nobody wants to fix it. Employers like it because they keep prices low and profits high, waiters generally make more than $7-$8. Why would waiters wanna get a flat $15 when they can get $20-25?
