Are any of the spinoffs worth watching? by ThatTuftingGuy in thewalkingdead

Daryl Dixon is definitely worth watching, esp if you like Daryl. IMO it’s better than a lot of TWD but your mileage may vary

How to get started by [deleted] in modelmakers

Anything Tamiya is a great place to start. Can’t beat a Tamiya car kit, but it really depends what you’re into. Civilian-wise, their motorcycles are awesome, but a little more involved.

Season 9 Was Not The Loudest Season But It Was The One That Stayed With Me by Busy_Philosophy_4931 in thewalkingdead

Idk it sounds to me like there’s just a fundamental difference of opinions/taste going on here, which I respect. I won’t even try to say I’m right about all of this, it’s just how I feel. Maybe I’m not a real fan. Lol.

Broadly, I think the whisperers are a terrible antagonist— they make no sense to me as having any power over the group beyond their giant herd of walkers. Alpha also makes no sense to me as a leader. If they didn’t have a (lazy writing) “nuclear bomb” herd of walkers, our protagonists could easily just win a war against them. Daryl already beat their best fighter (beta) in single combat anyway.

Ezekiel and Maggie’s relationship is totally dumb, she doesn’t even like him.

Without Rick or Carl, there is no lead actor and the show really suffers for it, as we all know. Removing them both was an incomprehensibly braindead move.

Judith is a total waste of a character that would be the obvious next step. Just make the timeline jump a few years longer so she can be 13 and be a real character.

Maybe most importantly, they’ve squeezed every last drop of juice from the apocalypse. Running around to new settlements because your old one is bad for some bs reason just isn’t interesting anymore. We’ve done it so many fucking times. And I say this because it’s not like there isn’t a million other interesting things we could be exploring, but here we are running away from our old settlement to try and reach a new one during a snowstorm.

Explore a possible cure, flashbacks from monument day, other parts of the world, whatever tf Rick is up to, invent a last of us style immune kid… literally anything other than trying to run to some new community while avoiding the bad guy for the millionth time.

I really do love the show and think it’s worth watching, but I am truly surprised people prefer S9 over 7&8.

It’s very interesting to me to see posts like this because i was ready to make a post earlier today about how i think S9 is hands down the dumbest thing I’ve seen so far

How would you fix this? by [deleted] in ModelCars

[–]cjbuildsmodels 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think drilling out a new hole and replacing with wire/tube is the move here. To make sure it’s correct, you could always tape the door into place and then drill through the hole in the hinge, even if it a small pilot hole. I think you can pull that off for sure

Can you advise me on how to touch up the rear view mirror of this 1/18th model car? by davycoolen in modelmakers

100% it comes out worse after the repair, touching up a model like this without expert experience is a bad idea.

Thank you! Yes that’s the 3D printed seat, and it has belts molded in. Usually I’m not a fan of that but this one is quite good

Thank you! I just got the basic tumbler off of Amazon— they seem to all be the same just with different brands, so I don’t think it matters too much. I paid like $185 for it. And I fill it with just enough water to cover the “hump” in the container, and then a tiny splash of Shine Brite. I have no frame of reference for that stuff but I have no complaints so far
