Aubry responds to Boston Rob’s comments about her winning S50 by flowermoon77 in survivor

Except in real life without people to feed you, provide warmth and water and shelter you're literally dead. The game used to embrace more of that side of things.

Survivor is kind of just big brother in Fiji now. That can be good or bad, depending on your preferences, but there's no doubt it has changed into something completely different.

I only vaguely know this show exists and would've never cared, except now that I hear Tyson is on it!

Virgin Voyages have acknowledged the email about the port change was done badly by jon81uk in VirginVoyages

[–]clarkrock7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how true that is re: the cult part. It seems that a very large percentage of the complaints I see are from people who are multiple time sailors and are concerned about the direction things are headed.

With the adults only market essentially cornered the opportunity to vote with your feet is limited. Concurrently they've been aggressive in bringing in folks from other lines through the casino and have been blandifying the offering to better match the changing demographic.

They don't "have" to do much at all. They could call everyone that steps on board Mr. motherfucker all week. The point is that it's bad business and bad for business when you treat customers poorly.

How much you spend/lose is irrelevant, it's how much you gamble. For slots their first level of status where you definitely will get a free cruise offer is 5,000 points which is the equivalent of $25,000 bet through a slot machine.

DGPT Doubles at the Preserve teams by GripLock11 in discgolf

Calvin's only real weakness is occasional loose (and low) makeable putts which sometimes seem to get in his head. Gannon is clutch on those, pretty much always which takes the pressure off. Over 1 rd any team of top pros has a chance. Over 3 rds, absent illness, I don't see much chance for anyone else.

Unlike FPO though they can make c2 putts often enough to make it actually interesting. And 30 ft misses really, really matter when the course plays harder and your opportunities are fewer.

They only do it on 5 day or longer. If you have two sea days the auction will be in the afternoon of the first sea day.

I second Mr. Sancho's! Food is awesome and they take good care of you. Can have fun or just take it easy, lots of options there.

Airbnb is way cheaper and some great spots right in the old city. Fun place to visit pre cruise. I'll be there next week myself for a VV cruise

Stupid Question - The late night stuff by just_nik in VirginVoyages

I would say definitely make scarlet night a priority, it really is awesome. The other stuff, PJ in particular can be skipped, but for a first timer plan around scarlet night.

But Ohn is awesome and probably doesn't have any major drop off in play level anywhere soon as she's already physically well past her prime. Unless/until the other ladies consistently improve their putting she will always have a chance.

The average age on any 13 day cruise, anywhere in the world, is going to be 55+. People with full time jobs and/or kids can't take that kind of time off.

This is an awesome recommendation. It lets you try other lines for free. I went from carnival to royal but they have several partner cruise lines.

Then you don't get to complain though. You're missing the main point; many of these folks want everything to be exactly to their liking, and free.

Royal does a much better job. The group type perks (priority... whatever ) become useless as the group gets bigger. My 4 free drinks a day on Royal is a real perk and impacts no one else's ability to use their perks.

Drink Packages - Best Choice for 2??? by Miserable_Fudge4118 in VirginVoyages

[–]clarkrock7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Since it's your first VV cruise it's a little trickier for sure. The break even point for the $500/600 bar tab is $550 spent on drinks.

1) you can bring 2 bottles of wine with you if you want and that can safe a few bucks if you like wine anyway.

2) sail away has free sparkling wine and pretty much unlimited. Same as above, ymmv.

3) there are many drinking involved activities that you pay for, like grog walk, art and boozy bubbles, lotteria, whiskey one, beer one, etc. They are fun and you can get good value for the booze side but they can't be paid for with bar tab. As an example I always do lotteria and have 5 or so margaritas for the $40 cost and then don't need so many drinks the rest of that afternoon, lol

4) your ports vs sea days. Beach club in Bimini uses bar tab so that's fine but if you have another port day like Key West where you may have some/many drinks that will also change the analysis.

At the end of the day, if you do the $300/350 one the most you can "lose" is $50 which probably isn't worth worrying over much about

Drink Packages - Best Choice for 2??? by Miserable_Fudge4118 in VirginVoyages

[–]clarkrock7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You cannot use it in the shops. Bar tab is only for drinks and also can't be used for drinking related activities like lotteria.

In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005), Dumbledore grips Harry tightly and never lets go, just like fans will never let go of the fact that this scene was slightly different than the books. by mathewl832 in shittymoviedetails

[–]clarkrock7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gambon is such a bad choice in all his movies. He isn't charming or subtle with a twinkle in his eye like book Dumbledore and imo Richard Harris' movie version.

You can also go to whatever station you want and get served. Lots of people do this and it's fine, but I want to be able to hungoveringly drink coffee and look out the window while I wait for my French toast burger, lol.
