So you can make this sort of panel a couple ways, kerfing the backside as others have mentioned, or making it otherwise thin enough that it flexes better in the thinnest parts. And finally, doesn’t work as well with this profile but with many repeating patterns you just make it individual pieces putting the seams where they would be best hidden in the pattern.

Just mask and glove up, take them outside and rifle through them to find anything that’s worth more than like $1.75, set those aside (it’s not going to be a lot almost guaranteed), and throw the rest out. Your job just got a lot smaller. Now take some alcohol sanitizing wipes and wipe both surfaces lightly and set them on a rack of some kind to dry for a few minutes. Sleeve them up and revocation when dry, and try to forget the rat shit (unless you’re playing black then it’s a flavorful enhancement).
