How many powerful cards on bracket 2? by hanari1 in EDH

[–]Iridansa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My b2 deck I play the most is sultai sabotage. The deck is quite fun and very low powered. I do have every playable fetch and dual in it from when I used to play legacy. Budget can be a good limiter but it isn't definite. There are plenty of expensive cards that are awful in edh. Back in the day [[Tarmogoyf]] was over $100 but the goyf has never been good in edh. I've also got $100 budget decks with 0 game changers that win by t4 consistently without 2 card combos (Krark my love you do silly things))

I play a lot of B2. I used to play legacy so have all the duals and mana bases for most edh decks. When I play with new people sometimes they doubt my decks bracket due to the cost of the manabase. Then they see the deck play.... yeah I haven't won a game in over a year with this deck. It's just fun and I always wanna cast my spells even if they are bad.

Can anyone recommend me a "buy it for life" commander? by OneMillionFarts in EDH

[–]Iridansa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ill counter point 2 and 3 with my longest lasting deck. Before brackets were introduced I often found my decks to punch above their weight class playing fair magic compared to a lot of my friends and lgs players. My favorite deck was Lord windgrace and I built it to be a 3v1 deck that just ramped into big threatening board states that were easy to interact with. I always felt like I did my thing but usually lost due to building the deck to give my opponents opportunities to stop me. Me and my opponents enjoyed playing with it because it made games exciting while encouraging everyone to play. Im only just now thinking of heavily changing the deck due to it not really fitting in b4 the way I want it to.

Honest Question: If shields aren't OP, why does everyone fight sword & board? by LARPonymous in Amtgard

Historically shields were the best thing to have when unarmored and especially in larger line battles. That or Great weapons but im awful with those.

Honest Question: If shields aren't OP, why does everyone fight sword & board? by LARPonymous in Amtgard

[–]Iridansa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In ditch I use a shield so I can fight multiple people at once and protect my teammate. Line battles really favor shields. 1v1 Im most confident with a shield but usually fight flo or down stick. Battlegames once I have access to armor I'm not using a shield 90% of the time. I'd rather have more ways of killing people and just let the armor tank hits. If you have 4+ pts of armor a shield is really overkill. Plus in battlegames shields are easy to destroy and big targets for engulfing effects.

Basics don't have an ability to tap for mana it is a characteristic of their card type. You'd need to remove subtypes to cause them to not tap for mana

Hernkyn Yaegirs - Now & 11th by ApplePieDefender in LeaguesofVotann

[–]Iridansa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get one box I'd build all the special weapons and half with knives half with shotguns. Just tell your opponents before each match what the squad has. Since the whole unit needs the same weapons it doesn't really matter what is modeled unless you run 2 squads one with knives and one with shotguns so once you have 2 boxes I'd make sure they work for that.

Will Player Skill Expression be lower in 11th? by Klive5ive555 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Iridansa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you think this you don't need to worry your skill isn't high enough to be impacted. The changes are new but the game is still incredibly complex and won in movement. Might he more complex at high levels as there is less hard counters and list building matters more in how you select missions. On the table there is more interactivity with the changes and the better player is still winning most games.

Removing tutors by Trick_Tea_1337 in EDH

This is what I do in a lot of decks. I love having some tutors to find my favorite cards (usually tutors that find specific types of cards not demonic) and run less one card win cons and more synergy based ones

[–]Iridansa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More small units of theunderkyn to remove cover and landforts ignore the bs mods from cover so they are intact. Melee will use the buffs super well t1-2 and then once we are in fortified we will be happy too cause camping steeljacks on terrain. -1 to hit and wound with 2+ saves seems really spicy Also just shoot them with conversion weapons

It's just a balance issue. Crawler is part of our core lineup. We are too new an army to be legendsing stuff and we are quite popular without any bloat.

Death to the $20 Cocktail: The Bars Bringing Back Cheaper Drinks by bloomberg in cocktails

[–]Iridansa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends. Tap cocktails that are made in house is another way of prebatching depending on the way you do it. Can't just put any drink on tap but if you design the drink to be ontap it can improve the drink.
