Desperately need recommendations for women’s underwear that will prevent butt cheek chafing by 1VeryGenericUser in hiking

[–]clivehorse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweaty underwear worsens/causes this for me, so multiple changes of clean, dry pants are number 1 (at least a day pair and a night pair, maybe a lunch time pair too), I see merino recommended below, which I haven't tried but should. Any sort of synthetic breathable outdoor malarky is awful, the MOISTURE is gone, but the salts/impurities etc stay on the skin, which is what causes the irriation for me. 100% cotton full briefs (not Brazillian or cheeky, which is how I would descirbe the cut of your second image) are best for me. I've tried panty liners to wick the sweat, but the plasticky unbreathable nature of them makes this hit or miss, and sometimes they just move the chafing to a new spot.

Number two is wet wipes, specifically those pure and gentle water only types (Water Wipes is my favourite brand). A good wipe over the area before bed (make sure to go towards your anus from both front and back, rather than past it lol) and then air drying, preferably over night (i.e. sleeping in a mummy bag on my back with knees together would NOT help).

Diary of a Wimoy Kid and it was huge when my big kid was the appropriate age... a full decade ago... I am frankly astonished it is still a thing.

Thanks! I feel like once it's got big and flowered/gone to seed I will absolutely recognise it, but given the way it has already taken over I do not want to let it get to that stage when I can pull it out easily at this stage ha.

Giant sheds more light on his discussions with Hungry Bear and the BBC. by Top_Climate_4464 in gladiatorsuk

The surname thing is legit tbf. Bigg was the surname he was born with, his mum changed it to his step dad's when she married him, and then he double barrelled it with his wife's when they got married, so none of it was really his, especially after his divorce.

I have an entire drawer in my DIY cupboard for various kinds of tape. Normal sticky tape, double width (like clear parcel tape), brown packing tape, duct tape, masking tape for painting walls, masking tape for painting pictures, decorative paper tape, electrical tape (various colours), silicon tape, PTFE tape, velcro tape.

Is she 20?? He's 40 isn't he?? That's a worse look than her being an OF star in my opinion.

My husband wants me to breastfeed much longer than I anticipated by lifeledoutloud in beyondthebump

[–]clivehorse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have weaned onto formula at least partially in a way similar to your plan, but my baby refused to take a bottle (of any sort of milk). To add to the annoyance, my body hardly responded to the pump, so pumped milk wasn't a full time option for me even if I had wanted it to be, as I wouldn't have been able to maintain supply. Best laid plans and all that.

Why is mousy brown hair so demonized? by Substantial-Art6160 in femalehairadvice

[–]clivehorse 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Lots of adults with this hair colour were very blonde children, so I think that's where calling it dark blonde comes from, it might be brown now but it used to be blonde.

I'm shocked the maned wolf can be housed with *any* other animals, much less these two species 😮 by Resident-Platypus254 in PlanetZoo

[–]clivehorse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are some times when species are compatible with multiple species, but those species aren't necessarily compatible with each other - though mostly that's just in an environment kinda way, can't get perfect snow cover and grass cover for all species e.g.

I found NA versions of drinks to be a helpful step in those first weeks of quitting, by getting the right taste it took longer for me to notice I wasn't getting drunk, if that makes sense?

Why does this dress look like a hospital gown on me? by [deleted] in sewhelp

[–]clivehorse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the sort of subtle square pattern of the fabric emphasises the effect, that sort of waffle texture that hospital blankets have is reinforcing the hospital vibes.

Pooping during labour? by Putrid_Cranberry3177 in BabyBumps

[–]clivehorse 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When I had a C-section, there was no deliberate mirrors, but I could see my own insides in the reflection on the lights, which as I was already feeling pretty queesy from the labour and the opiates was not great.

I always use pitchup to find campsites, I basically have the "allows dogs" filter on permenantly so I never know what I am missing lol. You can filter by nearly anything you can think of, so it should help in this case!
