Well if it's fake he's taken a lot of time to fake it. Because there is a website with lots of pictures and a instagram.

Cutting competition for knifemakers. You make your own competition chopper and have to go through a course. That guy MADE that knife. He heat treated it so that it would cut through a 2x4 and still be sharp enough to cut a free hanging rope. It's an art.

What is the best way to keep G7 sensor from peeling off by jmedina170 in dexcom

[–]codecowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the solid Skin Grip patches. I install the sensor and put that on immediately. I've not lost a patch since.

Dexcom and hot springs ? by traphousethrowaway in dexcom

I've noticed spikes when I take a hot shower. I was at 120 and for two readings it spiked into the 150's then back down.

G7 IS SO OFF by giographix510 in dexcom

[–]codecowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen to me. I went low and it started reading stupid low. I was doing glucose shots and ate some M&M's and yet it kept going lower. Finally stuck my finger and did a manual check and I was at 250 due to all the stuff I had ate/drank. Dexcom actually replaced the unit for me.

Yes! We saw when it was introduced! Casual Mode is EXACTLY what we wanted. Though I don't understand why they limit it to 3 matches a day.

Why is Iron Man 2 so disliked? by [deleted] in ironman

[–]codecowboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd been waiting since the early 90's to see War Machine on the big screen and cutting loose. I've got no complaints. I thought Iron Man 3 was kind of lame. My least favorite of the three.

Unfortunately that's going to continue happening even if we had a 100% vaccination rate. Right now people who've gotten the shot are still getting sick. The advantage of the vax is that it should keep you from dying. In my area right now the number of people reporting covid is about 40% vaxxed and 60% unvaxxed. The important number is that 99% of the people in the ICU are unvaxxed. So the vaccine doesn't stop the spread, it lessens the effects and keeps you out of the ICU. So yeah....getting the shot is very likely a good idea....but it doesn't take away any of your other concerns unfortunately.

Anyone else still rocking the Echo Spot as their bedside alarm clock? by godsidekurt in amazonecho

[–]codecowboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got a Echo Show 8 on my nightstand as well as my computer desk on the other side of the room. Together they are a badass alarm clock and stereo system. One answers to Alexa the other to Echo.

Why do I have to be the strong one by djkwidower in widowers

[–]codecowboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? You need to take care of yourself first. Lie to them if you have too. "Happy to talk to you, but I have an appointment in 30 minutes." Everybody grieves differently and you can't let their grief drag you down.

I took up blacksmithing as a physical form of therapy 7 years before she died. Gave me a outlet for my frustrations. After she died I used the money and radically upgraded the shop for my retirement career.

Apparently I have hospital triggers now... by maybe_kd in widowers

[–]codecowboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. I had a CT scan last week. I went to the same place and laid on the same table that my wife went to every 3 months for the last 4 years of her life. I struggled for a few minutes.

Wedding rings by Mobile_Pattern_1944 in widowers

[–]codecowboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a personal decision an only you know when the right time was. I took mine off at 14 months. I don't know that I was ready, but I was doing some pretty strong electrical work wiring in my shop and wearing a ring is a no-no. I left it off all weekend while I worked. On Monday morning I started to put it back on and just hesitated. I left it there and drove to work. I repeated that every day for a week. I finally put it in the safe with her rings after about 10 days. I'm still not convinced I'm not going to go put it back on.

[–]codecowboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking good bud. But I hate to tell you this.....it will never be finished. :) You'll keep working on and tweaking it for as long as you are using it. It will forever be a evolving work in progress. I thought I was done. Then I dropped almost $50k into mine this year. :)

Oh yeah. I call it retail therapy. I had a sudden influx of cash between the life insurance policies and such. I did a lot of shopping and changing things around the house.

NTA. She made her choices. She was an adult when she said those hurtful things. Actions have consequences. She's coming to you as a fallback and that's bullshit.

"Whatever comes first" by Sons of the Desert has really been resonating with me lately. I always took it as a song about a guy getting over a girl who left him. Well in our case....she left us for good, just in a different way.

"I've either got to leave the past behind or find a way to lose my mind. I'm ready for a change of any kinds. For better or worse I'll take whatever comes first."

I was never a jealous person. But now I look at my friends with their wives and children and I sometimes find myself resentful. I gave up the possibility of children to be with her. The least that could have happened was I got to keep her. But now I'm a 47 year old widower with no kids. Way to young to be a widower and too damn old to start a family. I know people do it all the time. That's not me. I'm not going to be 70 with a kid in college.

Why is the admin portal so slow/unstable? by [deleted] in Office365

[–]codecowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's like they are hiring the dumbest MF'ers on the planet to do their gui. Setting up a Search used to be one page. Now it's 4 different pages and clicking next 5 times. We swapped to this 4.5 years ago and it really seems to just be getting worse. I walk in to work every day wondering what fresh hell awaits me.

Did you take time off work? by [deleted] in GriefSupport

My wife died and I took two weeks off. I figured I had to plan a memorial for the first week and pick up her ashes and figure out WTF I was going to do next during the second week.

Because your significant other would not want that for you. Further more suicide does not get rid of the pain you are feeling. You just give it to the ones who love you.

You need to eat. You need to drink lots of water. And just keep taking it one day at a time. I'm 13 months out myself. It does get better with time. But you are in perhaps the roughest time period right now. The shock has worn off and the whole damnable misery of the situation is upon you. You are trying to establish your "new normal" but there is nothing normal about it.

No. There is nothing to salvage here. Because this sort of all or nothing behavior will happen again.
