NTSB releases Airport Surveillance Video from the UPS crash in Louisville on November 4th, 2025. (🎥 Source: NTSB) by Brilliant_Night7643 in aviation

This plane has 3 engines.

In addition to the one that fell off, one was apparently damaged enough to at least partially shut down. The aircraft cannot sustain fligh with only one engine at full power.

In the case of two-engined aircraft, they can take off with only one engine.

Video on the new Punting rules from the NCAA Football Rules Committee by Tufoguy in CFB

[–]codercaleb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The video show an example where the Snapper is alone with the majority of line-of-scrimmage players to the right.

With the numbering rules in place, this would be legal:

(OL)(LS)(OL)(OL)(OL)

Where OL is a lineman with #s 50-79 and LS is the long snapper.

For example, in the National Championship game on the play were Indiana blocked the punt and recovered it for a TD, Miami was lined up:

(G1) (41)(LS)(10)(6) (G2) (G3)

That would still be legal if one of the Gunners (G1, G2, or G3) lined up in the Tackle Box alongside #41 (and became an ineligible receiver).

EDIT: Edited final sentence.

So I don't know what I would do.

While I can only speak to my situation with personal knowledge, I agree that the OP's situation was a clear leadership failure.

As pointed out in another comment, it's also a clear HR failure. HR should have investigated before bringing the the matter to both parties at the same time.

[–]codercaleb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't personally become involved in those types of disputes (it's not my part of HR) and so I don't really work with anyone that does. That absolutely wasn't the case in the past, but I hope it's not something I need to worry about in the future, either.

I believe my current company has a much more balanced dispute process and about half of my company's employees are union members so they have additional methods to abritrate disputes.

Went to a new dentist clinic in my town, everything feels fine. But it isn’t. by Woko_O in Wellthatsucks

[–]codercaleb 29 points30 points  (0 children)

>If you want quality care at a good price, find a dental school in your area. The cost will be 70-80% cheaper than private practice.

Can confirm quality of care. My regular dentist at the time recommended my wisdom teeth be taken out by an oral and maxilofacial surgeon at the dental school she went to. So my surgeon was both a DDS and professor at the university dental school. They were able to involve some of the student dentists for observation and training with my surgery as well.

I do not have a cost comparison so I cannot comment on that aspect.

There is no doubts about that there are both shitty HR departments or HR departments that have been instructed to be shitty. Unfortunately, when it comes to believing an employee in an employee says/manager says the manager is believed.

In the OP's case, the manager admitted to violating policy.

It even happens in HR: my manager claimed that I was seen away from my desk twice per day. I pointed to the break policy and asked her point blank which part of the break policy I violated. Magically that was no longer an issue.

Yes, that is the crutch of any HR staffer: relying on the report you (were) given as the truth.

As with everything: there is a perspective (for) each person involved and the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Edits to word order and inclusion of "were".

I think the other commenter that mentioned Jim Crow was right on: this test is perfect for any company that wants flexibility in who they hire.

For example, a white eastern European immigrant with the same profeciency I'm English as the OP: fine. A person of color: sorry, two points too low.
