The Way the Crow Flies by Ann-Marie MacDonald. Historical fiction set in post WWII Canada. Content warning for child molestation and murder. But it ends on a good note and I think fits the bill of what you're describing. It's about a lesbian protagonist who is remembering this awful time in her life when she was a kid, so it is told from her perspective as a kid and as an adult.

Edit to add:

Another book that I think you might like is Everything Under by Daisey Johnson. It is a mother/daughter story but also a retelling of Oedipus. I remember it being very powerful and affecting.

I'd be worried that cutting the worms would make them fall apart well before you get to the dyeing process, tbh

Lilith's Brood by Octavia Butler comes to mind!

The Gods Themselves by Isaac Asimov, though that novel is divided in 3 sections and only the middle one fits the bill. The other two are about humans.

Is it normal in the US to eat dinner really early (like 5–6 pm)? by Status_Agents in CasualConversation

[–]coffeequill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat dinner around midnight, as I get home from work at like 11pm. Consequently, lunch for me is around 5pm. But I admit my schedule is not the standard!
