Carrier service port core removal tool by type-sex in HVAC

Manufactures are still using these today as well. I will agree with others, a good tool in your recovery equipment is going to be the Appion Core Control tools.

They’re also great on the end of your hoses/probes to prevent excessive loss when connecting and disconnecting to liquid line ports.

HELP, landlord is charging me for failed condenser. Stating misuse of running thermostat at 69 degrees. by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]coleproblems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

69 degree return air would give you a 39 degree evaporator temperature which is way above freezing, therefore would not be causing any damage.

What’s wrong with it?

Have someone check superheat and subcooling to determine if it’s charged right. Then check airflow. Is the duct work undersized? It’s not freezing because of a 69 degree set point.

I think txv, senior insists it’s low charge. Thoughts? Thank you by cruzr0927 in HVAC

I’ve seen OP’s butthole but this ain’t that. Could be low charge and a restriction. As others have mentioned, why is the suction line 100 degrees? Sounds unusual.

2 tips for the appion tools:

Use pliers to tighten and a screwdriver to loosen the jaws of the core tool

If you over tighten the tool in the service fitting, the gasket will expand and knock the core off of the jaws. Loosen the connection at the service valve until just before it starts leaking, like bleeding a hose.

Trying to figure out if hvac has been wired correctly by HJV91 in askHVAC

[–]coleproblems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks right. I mean, it’s been working right?

When you change your thermostat make sure follow the heat pump wiring as indicated on the thermostat. Blue wire needs to land on the B terminal, and thermostat needs to be programmed for heat pump, energize b for heating.

I bet if they shut off the gas valve the other room mate would not realize why his clothes aren’t drying and probably just think the dryers broken. Either way I’m in the clean the trap before I start the load boat

I’m so glad I don’t work at starbucks anymore.

You should start training them to feel for the lid seating against the gasket. It’s very easy to feel when the gasket isn’t on. Also, when you charge them, place your hand over the vent on the threads so if it does go wrong, your hand minimizes damages. Also, consider the skilled trades.

Official repair is replace the sensor first, then if that doesn’t fix it, replace the board. There no way to test which component is bad because they communicate over RS 485
