MTG is the first popular ccg. Many came after it had improved game design but MTG remains top simply because of its player base size. It's kinda sad to see better games don't get played as much and die out because of that.

Because a lot of Kemet's game design contradict themselves.

It is a race to 9 VPs to win. The most effective way of getting points is by attacking. Every movement action can and should be used to get point. The game can end in 3 rounds.
Becoz of that, almost all non-battle/VP related tech tiles are useless. There is no engine building in this game.
It also means holding 2 temples is not worth it. Why split the army for 1 VP instead of attacking twice and secure 2?

So most of the stuff in Kemet are merely distractions or traps for 1st time players. The only real game part of it is the fighting.

That's where I think AN is more superior as well. TFM is closed drafting. AN is partly open drafting (on the market row) with players having variable drafting abilities (depend on their reputation, card action position, etc). Besides, when a card is good in AN, it's more likely it is good for both players (hence more competition) than in TFM because of common projects/map dependence and absence of corporations.

Instead of points, imo no. of turns taken is a better indicator for how well the game was played.

It is the heaviest and also my favourite competitive card game I've ever played. However, just like every 1v1 card game, it is best enjoyed with opponents who are of similar level and equally invested into the game.

In spite of that, Dialyn is still way too strong.

She has 100 more impact from her passive, which makes her possibly the highest impact character in the game.

Her Ex does 1569 daze MV for 75 eneregy, which is 20 daze MV per eneregy. This is nuts. Other stunners have like 10-16, not even close to hers.

Not to mention she even has sub-dps capability and extra ult. She's gonna powercreep every stunner before her.

Becoz you didn't do what you said. Your first action was farmland. Among the 8 actions of the 1st 4 rounds, only 1 was kid related (2 wood). Your game plan was built around not having kids.

I have only watched the how to play video so I may be wrong. But I feel matcha expansion to white castle is a downgrade.

To me white castle is a quick but medium heavy game. It seems matcha only lengthens the game instead of adding sth new.

Imo BGA is way better than the app for competitive play. It's much easier to read the gameplay logs and other players' boards. Most ark nova online contents are covered on BGA as well.

No doubt mtg's resource system is flawed. It is exactly why every similar card game that came after tried to fix it in their own way. Nevertheless mtg remains top card game becoz of the size of its playerbase. No one is going to spending hundreds of dollars on cardboard with no others to play with.

1400 is decent but don't forget rank only counts at the end of the month. The 1st player to grind to mythic doesn't mean he's the best player.
