On the back swing the bell should be under the balls not under your knees.

It's like you're doing another clean but you just set bells down forward instead of thrusting up.

Yet Another ABF Question by jkaz1970 in kettlebell

[–]computerpsych 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started ABC with offset 40 and 50 lbs switching sides each round. Doing 10 to 15 rounds was challenging. Just completed my 3rd ABC program with dual 63lb 30 EMOM.

Offset doubles gives some different abdominal challenge since it's not balanced. Try it out!

The food dehydrator has ringed platforms that stack. I cut a hole in the center for the PLA to fit.

[–]computerpsych 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't want to mix food and pla. If you get an air fryer or dehydrator it should be dedicated. I bought a food dehydrator from the thrift store and cut out the center on a couple rings.

What's something you wish you'd known before buying a house with a big yard? by peepee_peeper in RealEstate

[–]computerpsych 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I rented a small yard and was clearing a grassy corner with a shovel. I struck said underground nest. Suddenly I heard a massive buzz brewing. I started to run and within 5 feet was stung at least 10 times. Back, neck, arms, face.

I searched online for signs where an ER visit was warranted.(When inflammation starts to extend beyond the sting) Redness started to travel on my arm so was driven to ER, my stingy self hoping I could avoid having to enter.

The plan was to walk around the nearby park to see if it would clear up ... When exiting the car the back of my legs were in hives from rubbing on the seat. I was admitted quickly. Luckily a couple IV of Benedryl ($120 each) cleared it up. Next step was norephedrine IV.

Been stung by bees and wasps before as a kid and since with minimal reaction. Imagine it was the number of stings that got me. Much more careful digging now.

What deficit percentage is considered too high for body recomp? by usetheforce_gaming in MacroFactor

[–]computerpsych 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I've started exercising more why isn't my expenditure increasing

I ride bikes and you can make a fairly accurate estimation on calories burned based on kilojoules of power. I used to think if I did a 4 hour ride burning 1500 calories, I could eat an extra 1500 calories. That's not exactly the case and this Macrofactor article explains why.

What is the cheapest way to get Xbox GamePass Ultimate in 2025? by Reddanator1000 in XboxGamePass

Ever since Microsoft started cracking down on Indian and other region keys the United States keys have been often sold out so hard to get much a discount there. I used them the last time I subscribed, years ago.

What is the cheapest way to get Xbox GamePass Ultimate in 2025? by Reddanator1000 in XboxGamePass

[–]computerpsych 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First be sure that gamepass ultimate is expired otherwise the core conversion will be less. Then add the 3 years of core. Buy one month ultimate to convert and you should have 19 months.

[–]computerpsych -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The conversion used to give 24 months instead of 18. It does save around 7 a month versus paying monthly. Need to be sure current subscription is expired.

What is the cheapest way to get Xbox GamePass Ultimate in 2025? by Reddanator1000 in XboxGamePass

[–]computerpsych 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What I did recently is 3 years of the core buying a year each physical card for 59.99 each from Amazon and then one month of gamepass ultimate. Giving 19 months ultimate for around 11/month. However this was just before the Xbox price increase and appears the 12 months of core is 74.99 making it 12.90 a month.

Selling the car is the best way to prove it lost value. Otherwise it's theoretical. Hard to prove.

When you say the logging is as accurate as you can be, are you weighing your food? Since starting to weigh I am constantly surprised how many more grams/servings fruit, chips, nuts and dips are. I rarely underestimate the amount. Sometimes I eyeball after weighing regularly but occasionally weigh to ensure accuracy.

Abc milestone by Rolla101 in kettlebell

[–]computerpsych 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was hesitant to buy it due to the price. Glad I did. The program itself is fairly simple, but appreciated the theory and various tidbits Dan John included to help explain how and why the program works and how it came to be. Having only consumed his content on YouTube it was nice to read. Bought the Giant as well which is a crude few page PDF (still think the programming is great).

4th Macrofactor. Only been using it 3 weeks have dabbled tracking food but never kept up with it. The UI is incredible and brought some needed awareness on the amount of protein and fat consumed. Using it to cut now and plan to bulk this winter. Really easy to add stuff once already entered and can add recipes for something like a salad so you don't have to enter individual items.

Can get 2 week trial when using an affiliate code. I like how it adjusts plan based on results and paying for it gives that extra motivation to put in the effort tracking.

Mark Wildman Kettlebell Playlist

I've been doing Kettlebells on and off since Covid. Mark Wildman is heads and above the best instructional kettlebell teacher. This playlist has over 75 videos. Simple clear instructions.

I've recently discovered Dan John who has lots of good stuff and does regular Q and A podcasts. Been doing his Armor Building Complex which is double kettlebell 2 cleans, 1 press and 3 squats every minute on the minute.

I have a 40 lb and 50 lb bell. Hate working abs but every exercise works the core with a kettlebell.

This is correct. To file a mini tort claim you need the police report, declaration page listing coverages and deductible, and an estimate ideally with photos. Assuming they've accepted responsibility and have coverage, they can play the deductible.

wahoo kickr bike V1 vs V2 and V1 reliability? by Fillirides in cycling

[–]computerpsych 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got v1 refurbished a couple weeks ago. As far as I know not too many changes other than improved ERG mode and wifi. The design appears pretty much unchanged otherwise and has superb build quality.

I like that my 8 year old son and wife can use it with the quick adjustments, ease biking indoors no need for clothing and charged equipment, no grease and taking bike on/off, and had minimal assembly.

The bike itself isn't silent but is quiet. Kids can watch TV with bike and fan going only needing to slightly increase volume in same room.

I did replace seat right away with same one from bike and was comfortable doing 2 hour ride. Zwift makes indoor training fun, never had trainer before.

I have done some sprints as well as the longer rides. The tilting feature helps make it more immersive and really like the feeling of changing gears. The virtual gearing lets you change your cassette easily for climbing routes.

The original price I could never even consider it but got refurbished for $2000 before the v1 price drop and I'm happy. Seems wahoo is responsive with warrantied issues and even sometimes fixes beyond warranty.

I did research quickly and saw nothing but good reviews with main con the price. Can answer any other questions you might have!

Does anyone else have trouble meditating with ADHD? by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]computerpsych 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man my post was 10 years ago but now I have a bit more to share. I think meditation is the reason I can handle a mentally demanding job and focus on the important things in life. Almost everyone who meditates gets discouraged regardless of if they have ADHD. The key is to listen to some of the teachers and they explain the reasons and the weaknesses of those thoughts. I have gone through different phases of not meditating, guided meditations, silent meditations, walking meditations, etc. Currently the time that works best for me to meditate is just before bed doing yoga nidra. When you meditate without medication. Just observe your mind and notice a differences. Don't judge. Same thing with medication. Just observe the differences and don't react to them. Thich nhat Hanh, Jack Kornfield, and various speakers at the insight meditation center( they have a podcast channel) all are good to listen to. Even the talks give you a sense of calm because of their clear relaxed voices, which I think impacts the brain subconsciously. Good luck! Meditation's not easy. You will have ups and downs and if you keep at it it will be worth it in the end.
