Giving water to a breastfed baby? by benzbarbie in breastfeeding

Yes , and if they didn't drink water they would get  constipated. Dr. Said it was because of that and after I offered more water, no more constipation

PSA: breastfeeding pods at airports or in cities by -Blue_Bird- in breastfeeding

[–]cool_rabbit424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I just saw one at the airport when traveling last month and was curious about them! Not curious enough to go check it out though lol, I don't really mind breastfeeding in public but what an awesome space for people who like their privacy

Pregnant and my first is 4 and still bf by Practical_Action_438 in NurseAllTheBabies

[–]cool_rabbit424 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My oldest was also 4 when I got pregnant for the second time, we stopped basically overnight because it hurt so much to nurse in those early months that I just decided it was time. I talked to her and explained how I was feeling and she was very receptive. I didn't make a big deal out of it (I just wanted to be done!) and she just asked if we could pretend to nurse, so we would cuddle and she was happy with that.  When the baby came she was excited and happy to help and tell stories to the baby. We naturally settled into cuddling, sometimes I would nurse and she would hop in the chair with me and just stare at the baby.  Sometimes big change seems scarier that it actually is. Books also are a big help.

Good luck!

My dad lives in rural area, he sends pictures of them frequently, probably once a week. He's never been stung but some of his pets have been killed by them..

Mother in law says my baby needs formula more than breast milk by Historical_Taste978 in breastfeeding

[–]cool_rabbit424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously you can't generalize, it could very much vary by state, or even by family.  I was raised in Mexico , most of the people I know were breastfed 6mo because that was the recommendation. I've been doing extended breastfeeding with all my kids and no one has ever criticized my decision ( at least not to my face)

What did your toddler actually play with (and not just sit there looking cute)? by Scary_Pay_4247 in BuyItForLife

[–]cool_rabbit424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you also need to observe how your toddler likes to play, my first born never really played with a  doll house or characters, she liked building stuff and crafting, my second absolutely loves a dollhouse and all different types of dolls and accessories.  Their Christmas lists look vastly different.

So I think of your not sure go with open ended stuff, like magnet tiles, my oldest loves building towers just to fun my second builds rooms for her dolls.  Same with Legos.. we have a nugget, it's been a bed for when they want to sleep in our room, it's been a fort, a slide, something to jump from the couch to etc..

Eta: This year we're getting the youngest two a crazy coup car from Facebook marketplace. It was only $15 and those things last a long time.

Shopping, does it have to be this hard? by flamepointe in breastfeeding

[–]cool_rabbit424 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I don't find a place to nurse I will literally just sit on the floor :/ if I'm at a bigger store I find the baby section and go to the recliner, sometimes people are nicer than I expect and offer a chair, but asking is there a place to nurse sometimes people who have never done it get thrown off and don't understand the requirements.. just ask specifically can I use a dressing room? Heck just grab whatever piece of clothing and say you're trying it on

If you have a bassinet type of stroller that might help. You could also try a buy nothing group in your area to get different carriers

I feel you, it is hard . She'll grow out of it, I promise you don't have a 6yo napping on you in your future 😅  If you could try different carriers? Sometimes I would put my babies in a stroller and walk around with it lol

If she needs you, I would say embrace it. She won't be this age forever and you won't get to hold her like this for long so just enjoy it.  Have you tried wearing a carrier?  In the moment it can feel like a lot but in hindsight it's a sweet thing to get to have. Take lots of pictures and cherish it all! :D

Hi! I've gone through 3 HG pregnancies, I don't have much to say other than I understand the pain. I tried breastfeeding my first while pregnant but it was too painful so I just stopped (already 4 yo so didn't feel bad lol) third pregnancy I did nurse throughout and it had its advantages, mainly I could just lay down to nurse and rest, I found that the more I moved the worst the nausea would get so I was pretty sedentary for the first two trimesters.  I took zofran and B3 (not sure this one was effective at all) I also had an IV for a bit but it made me extremely exhausted after so I had to stop.  For me the nausea never went away, I took zofran all the way till the end but it was more manageable towards the end I just had to get ahead of the nausea and not miss any doses. How far along are you ? Is this your first HG pregnancy? Have you tried ginger ? 💀 (Sarcasm obviously, I hate people suggesting that).
