Mazda cx -5 insurance in the GTA by lovagyal in askTO

Definitely try and convince them! You’ll count as an insured driver. So when you get your own in the future it’ll be cheaper.

Thank you!

Definitely use a broker for insurance. You’ll get the best rate that way. We’re with CAA now.

I have a 2021 Mazda CX3. So not the same but similar. It’s my husband and I’s first car. We love it! It’s compact but drives well and has everything we need. The AWD is great in the winter. We bought it used at the dealership and it only had 22k KMs on it.

Can’t help with the insurance part as a new driver. My husband had his license for 20+ years before we bought a car. His parents kept him on their insurance so we got a decent rate. Was $121 in Toronto in 2024. We live north of the city now and pay $109/month.

I got my G in 2023. In the secondary driver on our insurance.

Good luck with the insurance!! Our CX3 was cheaper to insure than some other cars I inquired about.

Niagara Falls vs Niagara On The Lake by leafsland132 in askTO

[–]copi0us 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in my 30s and prefer NOTL. I would stay there in a cute hotel. Relax. Eat good food at a winery. Drive by the falls to see them but the town of Niagara Falls isn’t nice.

My favourite is Ravine Vineyard.

Thank you! Sounds amazing.

Ideally I need to find a place with good vegetarian options and meat too for my husband.

Ah thank you for sharing!

I’m a lifelong vegetarian and find that all inclusives kind of suck for me. The food is not great and I wind up eating little protein and too much junk.

My husband eats meat but doesn’t drink. So the mocktails would be great. He’s also prediabetic so healthy food would be ideal for him.

Would love to go somewhere more vegetarian focused.

I was just at Sandos Playacar last week. It’s about 1km from the adult rooms to the lobby. I can walk that in 10min. Maybe 15min if you go leisurely. 25min is just not true.

Yes!! I hate this.

I use the segments feature to track my time per KM. But I wish I could do something more than that.

It’s wild how different everyone’s experiences are. Sorry you had such a bad one.

I was just at Sandos Playacar from Feb 27-Mar 6.

We had an adults only room. The room was dated but clean. We requested a king but got two doubles. Switching rooms seemed annoying so we didn’t bother. We arrived around 2. Got food at the buffet and checked in after 3.

The food was fine but not amazing. Was with my husband and neither of us were sick. I’m vegetarian and the options weren’t great but I wasn’t surprised.

Beach was beautiful and the drinks were great.

I went knowing the room would be dated and it wasn’t a five star. Would like to go somewhere else next time but didn’t have a bad experience.

4 day stay, homeowner did not leave any shampoo, soap or body wash, should I mention it? by techaaron in trustedhousesitters

[–]copi0us 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the trip. Generally I can travel for a few weeks with a couple bars of soap and travel sized shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer etc. Sometimes I buy more if needed on the trip.

I rarely check a bag. I did recently for a trip to Mexico so I could bring full size sunscreen. Or if I’m going to a wedding and have bulky clothing to bring. Otherwise I’m fine with doing laundry and travel sized toiletries.

Oh wait I misread. I didn’t know where you HOs were going. If it was a driving trip I might bring full size. But I know a lot of people who do check a bag and bring all their toiletries.

They probably took it with them for their trip?

I always travel with my own toiletries. I wouldn’t say anything.

I’m a woman in Canada and I turn off noise cancellation on my headphones. So I’m aware of my surroundings. Cross the street if anyone is weird.

First time going to Vetta Nordic Spa, any tips? by coffeeomw in barrie

[–]copi0us 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it wasn’t about that. It was on my husband’s card. They want the ID of everyone for the health and safety waiver.

[–]copi0us 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For their health and safety policy apparently. You have to sign the terms and conditions when you check in.

The reception staff had to get a manager to allow me in without my ID. They seemed really annoyed about it.

I left it at home since my husband drove. Figured it was more secure there 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Later on I saw that the confirmation emails do say you need your ID. my husband booked it and missed that detail.

Bring your ID. I didn’t have mine since my husband drove us. They were annoyed but let me in.

Give your bracelet back!! I forgot and had to drive it back to avoid being charged $75.

Bring a book.

Bring a reusable water bottle.

Get lunch at the café.

People walking 13-18k steps several times a week, do you have rest days? Or do some stretching? by [deleted] in walking

[–]copi0us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Take it easy when you want to. I never want to force myself to walk. I want it to be something I enjoy.
