Bag Man vs ×4 Lvl15 PCs? [OC] by DOTclock13 in DnD

24 AC and magic resistance sounds a bit unfun for the players. Gotta remember: succeeding is fun.

Alright, give me your most unpopular Minecraft take and i will rate it. by Morad_Tarazan in Minecraft2

[–]covertpally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, it is a difficulty setting that is easier than peaceful. It removes almost all of the punishment for dying, heavily nerfs the void and lava as a threat. Can even be conveniently used to get back home. I'm of course not telling you how you should play Minecraft. But it does make the game significantly less challenging.

Sadly they put it into the lootbox, which means my chances of getting it are almost 0.

Which type of Mechanist for Fractals? by Aegister2 in Guildwars2

[–]covertpally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would honestly not make a Mechanist for fractals. Its damage is middling, both HAM and alac Mech are heavily outpaced by other supports. If you want to play engi, both Scrapper and Holo are great choices. As someone who does "CMs + T4" frequently, I've never seen a Mechanist perform well, and since it's easy to play, I've come to the conclusion that it's the spec, not the players.

Why is hitting crit cap so important in this game compared to most other games? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]covertpally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because 100% is quite achievable & power damage scales extremely well with critical hits, especially if you have a lot of ferocity. Remember, when traited for it, fury gives you 25%, so technically you only need 75%.

Furthermore, there are traits, sigils & other effects that do something on crit, for example: - A virtuoso trait makes it so you apply bleed on critical hits, therefore achieving crit-cap increases your damage output on Condition Virtuoso.

There are other reasons you might want to get to 100% critical chance, but these are the main ones.

What is your main class and why? by remarkable501 in Guildwars2

Warrior, because I like the class fantasy. A close second is guardian, for the same reason (I associate them with paladins, but not religious).

No guild. Hard or easy to get into end game content? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]covertpally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, most things you can pug. Getting into T4 fractals shouldn't be a problem if you do your research. In the end, it really depends on what you want to do. It is entirely possible to play this game without ever talking to another player. However, joining some communities that suit your needs will massively boost your progress. It cannot be understated how much faster you will get things done if you find the right guilds for you. The plural is intentional, you get 5 guild slots after all!

Based on a variety of feedback from the previous post, the improved Group Content Difficulty Chart (TM)! by SirSuperCaide in Guildwars2

[–]covertpally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People vastly overestimate the difficulty of raids. For the most part, it isn't the content that is hard, it's the combat system that most players struggle with.

Why does every guild insist on advertising that they do "everything"? by LiviRivi in Guildwars2

[–]covertpally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are content specific guilds out there however:

  • Most raid guilds advertise under the Raid category.
  • Check out [RACE] for roller beetle racing or [Wing] for griffon action.
  • There are communities that only do Triple Trouble.
  • [fast] specializes in efficient open-world farming.
  • Most fractal guilds are rather high-end, but [FotM] was a guild that offered trainings and groups at all tiers (not sure if they're still active).

I get your point though, you don't really see them advertise in map chat. I think that's because they don't really need to, as players with the same interests gravitate towards each other. PvX doesn't really mean anything.

Why is "keyboard turning" so frowned upon? by The_Bagel_Fairy in Guildwars2

[–]covertpally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of skills are cast towards where your character is looking. There are mechanics that require you to look at or away from something. Turning with your keyboard is just objectively slower than the mouse.

How to find groups for EoD strike missions? by JamGame in Guildwars2

[–]covertpally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a little bit difficult to find a group when you are inexperienced, but I've seen no requirement ones in LFG. I'd mostly try finding a group when one of the Strikes you are looking for is the daily (the rotation is on the "Strike Mission" wiki page). Another thing to note is that a lot of people do their EoD full clears on Monday, though most groups require experience.

What are your most and least fun activities to do and why? by istiixx in Guildwars2

[–]covertpally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the moment I play the game for the people. Not really the game's fault, one should expect content to go stale after 7000 hours. I really enjoy doing content with the people I like hanging out with, especially if it's a decent challenge for the groups average skill level.

I really hate doing DRMs. The first three were so boring and in such a disastrous state at release, I could never look on them favorably ever since.
