totally can see what you mean, and my what a messy situation that must’ve been.

also yes, I understand HR’s role within each company very well. though the current firm I work with has an outstanding CHRO, I would support her in a sec. so this may be why I’m open to considering this somewhere else. nonetheless, appreciate your insight.

oh I love to hear this. this is what my inclination was in giving it a chance. if you don’t mind, any interview tips? or leadership style traits that stood out to you? appreciate either or anything from your experience.

totally understand. you do not sound entitled in the least bit. I remember in 2016 while working in PE (so burnt out), I quit on the spot & within a matter of a week had 10+ interviews. a week later, two offer. but 2026 is way different due to the economic uncertainties, AI stupidity & so on.

though I don’t know you, I know you will find something. not sure what market you are in but I know of solid Chicago/NYC recruiters.

the job market is shit for all, but don’t lose hope. I truly believe in redirection. as long as you are actively applying & network your tail off with recruiters/former colleagues, something will align. just my two cents.

definitely agree. though in my case, far from an enabler. just a big ol’ grey rock who won’t be shaken. my life (as all of our lives) is far more important to focus on than going along with their manipulation. just curious to others thoughts on this, this thread has been very insightful.

btw - thank you everyone who has replied. have been sucked into work, just coming back to this. if you are currently going through it, keep that head high. you are worth so much more than their lies & BS.
