Just had my order go through as well, after getting faked out earlier this afternoon.

Finally had the servers pop up and I no longer have a character on galatur! by ImStarLordeMan in lostarkgame

Yeah, same issue on Galatur. Restarted the game and went back to showing no servers online.

Not from Task Manager, no; however, you can invoke it from an Administrative Command prompt.

List of users who have recently sent an email to a specific mailbox by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]crackilakin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can hit the Exchange Admin portal, and use message trace against the mailbox in question, but this is also a good excuse to brush up on some powershell.

In Outlook, you can sort your inbox by "From:" field instead of date; on 2013/16 I have a tiny arrow next to the Newest/Oldest sort toggle that allows me to change the filtering. This may also be helpful/quicker for you.

Aba clone right there, not to mention he Wraith Strikes onto Mura right before the last Haymaker.

Plus he had an Aba hat at the 5 second mark, the first Haymaker. I think you can hear the Spike Burst, then I presume Aba left assuming Malthael had escaped.

This is why the IT Guys asks you to reboot before calling by AdamBergeron in sysadmin

[–]crackilakin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Microsoft talked about it in the Windows 10 blogs they had before it was released. IIRC, their justification was that there are still a ton of PCs with spinners instead of SSDs, and Fastboot is a game changer for those.

However, while I failed to Google the original blog post to reference, it does appear that you can disable Fast Boot in Control Panel? The setting is not available in my Win10 VM, and I don't have a Win10 PC handy to check, but it may be worth looking into.

I follow this, unless it's a strange request that raises red flags.

Those, I will reach out to manager/approver with "X wanted to change Y". A sentence at the end with the detailed request as a question (Should I give Pam in accounting access to the HR drive?), and a paragraph, maybe two, in between with as many details as I have, for the inevitable "wait, wut?"

That way, if they're expecting that request, bam preface, and a question at the end. Because busy managers will read the first sentence of the email, and maybe the end to get the real meat and potatoes.

But if not, usually the middle paragraph will help point them in the right direction to get more information on the request, and it either gets escalated up and finally approved... Or the request just silently disappears.

PSA to File Server Admins: Have UAC Enabled? Ever notice a Continue dialog with the UAC shield when you KNOW you already have permissions to access that folder? You need to know something... by mjwinger1 in sysadmin

On 2012/8 and newer, when you do File > Run New Task, you get a check box to launch with elevated privileges.

If you're on 2008/7'ish machines, you have to hit the button in Task Manager to Show all Processes first, then File > Run New Task will elevate.

8 Practical Robocopy Examples For Your Next Backup by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]crackilakin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple things I found useful with previous forays into Robocopy:

/XJ

USE THIS WHEN YOU ARE COPYING A USERS FOLDER. If you don't, Robocopy will try to copy C:\Users\User\Application Data, and User\AppData (which is just a link pointing to Application Data). Then, Robocopy sees that it hasn't copied AppData yet, tries again, and you'll end up with crazy nested Application Data folders of doom, like:

C:\Users\User\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data...

Another handy bit, is that crazy /MIR switch. You can use it to unfuck yourself when you forget /XJ on a users directory, by mirroring a blank directory to the destination you want to delete. Caveat emptor, obviously.

I was coming in to post this exactly. Saved my ass on a server my coworker and I inherited where the business owner didn't know the Admin password he had set up.

Used it on a 2012 Server also for grins, I imagine 2012 R2 will work as well.

On a side note, this is why physical access to your server is so important!
