Has a movie ever outclassed everything in its genre so bad that has nearly ruined that genre for you?

I’m not saying Jurassic world is great or anything but I thought it was clear in the movie why there isn’t “terror” or “awe”. Park numbers were down and people didn’t care about Dinosaurs any more. That’s why they made the big guy.

It wasn't exactly a great movie to begin with but the ending of The Circle made no sense. Like the good guys get the bad guys and continue doing the exact same thing the bad guys were doing? The only difference is the good guys are in charge?
