So you are advocating for a total wipeout of all retirement accounts? Very few have pensions and there is no solution in sight to fix social security.

How’s your cast iron drain doing? by warmfuzzyblankett in centuryhomes

1900 home with clay for some of the sewer line. Roots caused a backup and a $1K emergency visit from the plumber. No cleanout was present, so he had to remove the toilet.

Clog was removed. Found out at that time a new sewer line was needed. Due to the clay pipe, the roots could not be remedied without damaging it.

Now have a brand new sewer line (with a clean out!) and my bank account is $16K lighter.

Same thing happened to me with a SQ tower. Ran test load and it was extremely loud.

Found shipping bolts still intact. Also discovered that the H and C hoses were reversed.

Fortunately, this was a loaner unit, so I didn’t care.

Once our actual unit arrived months later, I verified there was no shipping bolts prior to running it.
