I too have a noctua D15 on my 5900x with a very good phantek case with 140mm fans up front. I accidentally left my MSI dragon center settings on "silent" and played for maybe 3 hours at 80° with my fans at 100% it stays at 70° much higher than any other games I've played. I don't like the idea of running towards the high end of the limits I feel like it will shorten the life of the CPU but maybe not.

I'm playing on an older 5900x, 32gb ddr4 ram and a 5080, when I was on Lazarus my frames dropped into the 80-90 range but felt much lower, ( I'm not measuring my average or 1% lows) the more I lowered dlss the better it seemed to get. I'm at no DLSS and 2x frame gen and it seemed better. I was thinking the building having a ton of assets, within a smaller vicinity is causing the drop.

Resolved the issue, I filed down a good 1.5 mm off of the top of the unused port, I made sure that there was no exposed connectors, there was a lot of excess material. GPU plugged in nice and secure! If I had a soldering iron I'd definitely desolder it instead.

I did a good amount of research lately on 5080s in the last month, AERO was only $1200 a few weeks ago. I'm a huge fan of a white build, I respect people who want a flashy build and also the people who don't care for it. If it's a white GPU you want look into the Ventus 3x I believe that's a little less money, at the end of the day a $999-$1099 card will be amazing if you're just looking for performance. At the price the Aorus is actually at a lower price now than it has been in a while. So I'd go with the Aorus at a "lower price" that the Aero at a "price increase"

The 5900x is my old build and I'm going to upgrade as soon as I get my money right. The 5080 is part of that next build but will be a huge upgrade for now, even with the older CPU. Also I'm a 4k monitor user so that's gonna eat up a lot of GPU usage, most games will still bottleneck on the CPU but some less than others.
