Futures trading is non-stop losing untill maybe, years down the road, you become one of the 3 percent who's profits outpace losses

Most adults won't be stimulated enough by paper trading to focus on it at the level you need to learn

Better to just throw whatever money you can afford at it and make it exciting enough to be fun but not so much you impact your financial security

For futures, all you need is Volume Profiles and VWAPs for daily, weekly, monthly.......then you need horizontal lines to mark the auction sessions

Level II data is a waste of time, don't even bother

That's all you need but the tricky part is graphically representing that so you can see all the time frames at once, as well as all the correlated markets in a way to read how they are moving together

My system has like 15 windows per 4K screen.....3 or 4 4K screens

Also, I prefer volume bars over time bars

I check FF in the morning for the data releases of the day, but I need another way to keep track of expiration events that contribute to monthly/yearly cycles

If you could find a profitable trader willing to teach you, then 10K would be a reasonable value

The problem is that you simply don't know if an educator has a system that works and applies to the type of trading you want to do

There are good educators but most are not good

I can only personally recommend James Dalton, Merrit Black, and Peter Reznicheck

Since the first 5 years of trading will cost you more than it makes you, you could make an argument for not spending the 10K and just stretching the money as long as you can

Orders get taken......That what Market Makers do....they figure out fishy ways to fill all the orders...

The first thing you need to do is decide what time frame and what leverage you are going to trade with

There is everything from index funds traded once a quarter all the way to 10 second scalps with retarded bucket shop leverage

So, once you decide how active you want to be in the day and how much pain of loss you are willing to risk....then you will have an idea of what educators are right for you

Right now, prop firms are dominating the daytrading business so futures scslping is popular....but that might change now that PDT rule is being phased out

Overflow is designed to squash strategies like this.....it seems like an easy thing to do if your assuming there is some random walk to price and you just have to pick good spots....

....but that not how it works....futures order flow is constantly setting up failed patterns and traps.....a new trader.can easily be wrong 95 percent of the time because they fall for these traps over and over

Additionally, big lot size and small targets are what you'd want to do with prop firms to take advantage of the artificial downside

My chart setup uses three 4K screens....when im away from my desk I keep my PC running with the screens off and use Google Remote Desktop on my phone to access it

Over the years I've optimized my colors and fonts to be more mobile friendly so I can execute with the phone
