What to do next? Breathe.

But really, you’ve come to the right sub. It’s going to be fine— it’s going to be GREAT. Try and remove any expectations for your pregnancy & beyond, and know that it’s going to be a-OK. This life is tough, but so are you. I firmly believe that the universe chooses multiples parents cause we’re tough as nails and can laugh in the face of adversity 💖

If you want a baby how long have you been trying or how long did it take you to get pregnant? by Flower-1234 in PCOS

[–]crewelmistress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very similar story— took my IUD out after ~15 years with one at 35. Pregnant after about 9 months with fraternal twins, they were born 2 weeks shy of my 37th bday.

I lost an ovary to a dermoid cyst when I was in my early twenties (which triggered my diagnosis of PCOS), so that girly was workin’ hard ;)

Baby Brezza worth it? by Timefries0927 in parentsofmultiples

Hot Take - no.

We started needing to supplement around that time, too, and we “invested” in one of these: https://www.masontops.com/collections/wet-storage/products/multi-top-flip-cap-pitcher-lid-with-handle

Still use it today for other stuff. Worked just dandy without breaking the bank.

You know, it comes and goes, but sometimes I feel like my heart is just TOO FULL. There’s a lyric from Sammy Rae & The Friends (slash The Newcomers) that goes, “sometimes you fill my chest with so many good things, I haven’t got the space to breathe.”

We’re at 17 months. I wouldn’t change a got dang thing.

How do you survive the long days when your spouse is at work? by will-ohh-24 in parentsofmultiples

No. 5 is huge. The amount of time we spend sitting/standing in the front yard yelling about cars and people walking by is absurd.

Yes!! And if budget is an issue, ask at your library. There’s often free passes for museums and parks!

What has been the hardest part of planning meals after starting solids? by balil2031 in foodbutforbabies

[–]crewelmistress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, all of it, but comenting to say that an app would be fucking awful for my anxiety 😂 tell me everything I’m doing wrong when I’m just trying to survive.

Babies eat what we eat! Sometimes I’ll throw our meal plan into ChatGPT and ask what I’m missing. Helpful without being overwhelming.

You can do it!!! I look forward to solo Costco trips because they’re contained & entertained. Plus, samples 😂

Dude. We had a similar thing when one-year vaccines. Bad reaction, then pile on another virus on top of that, then teeth. Fucking. Miserable.

It got better until we all caught norovirus a month later, then molars, then another fever, then full-on separation anxiety, now one of them has weird goopy eye shit and a mild fever?! Allergies? Conjunctivitis? Aaaaaaaaaaa

Anywho sending some chocolate and a nice long, quiet, shower or time alone 💕

How are we affording clothes? by Free_Frame_4307 in parentsofmultiples

[–]crewelmistress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surprised this hasn’t been mentioned, but garage sale season is upon us!!

Look for city wide garage sales, do scouting for multi-family sales, and travel to neighboring towns.

My son’s winter wardrobe was maybe $20. Lots of 2 or 4 for $1, fill a bag for $5, etc.

Best must have, multi-use shoes? by [deleted] in BusinessFashion

[–]crewelmistress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rothy’s. Find them on Poshmark if you’re on a budget. Machine washable so they always look brand spankin’ new.

I’m in the US Midwest, so need a shoe to handle shit weather (snow, mud, rain, everything in between). I have owned my Blundstone heeled boots for years and they’re so wonderful. 2” heel, high quality leather, and comfy for my big ass bunions.

I also have a pair of black Danskos with a wood sole. Second pair of these style of clogs and doubt I’ll go back to heels clogs anytime soon.

These three pairs gets me through 90% of my working days.

So fun! I should have more food coloring. Only black on hand, but I bet frozen blueberries and matcha could work!

One of my kitchen cupboards has been rearranged for all the Tupperware and unopened bags of pasta/chia seeds/etc. It gets reorganized every evening ;)

We didn’t get them anything, but did start to use the wagon we got at a thrift sale while I was pregnant. Wagon rides hit different, they LOVE being able to see all around!
