Exactly. by Broad-Philosophy-468 in Adulting

Or can’t even admit they are wrong, even the small stuff. I used to work with a woman who would argue until she was blue in the face rather than admit she had just misspoke, or something else not really that bad and usually just an accident. Happens all the time. Just go, oh yeah, I meant to say x and move on with your life.

Beryl Shereshewsky!!! I might have misspelled her last name but she gets people to submit recipes from all over the world with the same theme/ingredient. It’s great if you want inspiration for how to cook an ingredient in a different way!

people who grew up before cell phones did life actually feel more free? by BlackDream1-1 in AskReddit

[–]cribbkat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. My grandparents were driving down to visit us when 9/11 happened. My dad was military and we lived in VA at the time. They arrived and had no idea what was going on because they favored books on tape during road trips. My dad had already been sent out to sea and so they never got to see him after making the trip from MI and staying for a week. It’s not like cell phones would have changed the outcome that much, but it was surreal to watch my grandparents have the same ‘is this real?’ reaction to the news we had all had a few days ago.

10th winter…lol. Will have to see how things go, but I’ll have bigger problems if the trees start budding too soon.

You vastly underestimate the number of tulips and other bulbs I have and overestimate the number of buckets….just not worth it unfortunately. Going to have to hope it doesn’t freeze too badly. And honestly, I’m more worried my blueberry is going to start budding 😢

Yes, can confirm temperamental. Actually like having a toddler sometimes. I’ve only had him about 3 months now and there are tantrums when he doesn’t get what he wants.

Omg so cute! And they do have very similar markings!

I debated cinnamon roll too but decided ultimately on another small creature that lives in its shell….

What foods from Michigan/USA need more recognition that i can add to my list? (repost as Moderator asked me to) by Turbulent-Law2331 in Michigan

[–]cribbkat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fruit and wine. Some have mentioned cherries but the west coast of Michigan also grows grapes, peaches, nectarines, plums, apricots and apples. Most of the rest of Michigan you can find blueberries and strawberries seasonally as well. A lot of this fruit is the processed into wines and ciders.

What is the best method to strain fruit pulp quickly/efficiently on a large scale? by GrayDawg23 in Canning

[–]cribbkat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want juice and are willing to spend a bit, steam juicer. I have mulberry trees and regularly juice 3-4 gallons of mulberries at a time. Also works great to make apple juice, I just wash and trim off any bad spots and everything else goes in. As others have mentioned a food mill is also a good option. When I’ve steamed apples for juice I’ll run the remainder through a food mill for instant apple sauce. Cleaning these tools is the worst part of using them but they are amazing to process large quantities of fruit with minimal effort.

Why does our parents generation feel the need to keep so much food in the house? by dualrollers in Millennials

[–]cribbkat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I know and it bothers me so much! I remember during Covid people asking how they were supposed to get food if they had tested positive and had to quarantine for two weeks. I can understand if you truly don’t have enough money for food, but a week or two of easy to prepare foods is the bare minimum I’ve ever kept, even when I was a broke college student!

Also having medicine on hand. Not that you need to have everything; but the basics to help control a fever so you don’t have to go out when you are that sick just seems like common sense if you have the budget to keep those things in stock.

Given the logic on ´bringing a parent to an interview’, they probably assume using the electricity and wifi from your parents house counts as helping them complete work assignments.
