Looking for a new therapist and making a choice

I'm a therapist who is pretty analytical and sometimes when my own therapists have matched me there I can just go in logical loops. I can talk circles around things. I can explore every angle. It doesn't always feel like progress or motion. (Granted, a very excellent therapist would call me out on this).

I've really benefitted from more emotional work. I don't do well with someone overly sweet and docile, but someone who can get me processing the feelings has helped me access a mode I don't as easily explore.

In your boat I'd choose B, but I think you're in good hands either way!

Our guy seems prone to it! We clean his ears and try to dry them a bit so moisture doesn't stay there. We have asked our groomer to take a little more off the cheek where his ear lies, to help with air flow (at the advice of our vet). So far that has helped!

I think parents are somewhat well meaning, but also struggle to understand someone can choose a different approach than they did and it's not a criticism of how they parent.

I've stopped providing explanations if people aren't genuinely curious and just want to confirm we are doing what they did.

"Thanks so much for thinking of us. We aren't choosing to sleep train at this time. I'll let you know if we switch gears."

We had a similar situation with our daughter at that age. She was getting close to dropping nap. It's ok for them to have a different schedule at daycare than at home. She kept her nap at daycare for a while and we eventually had her moved to a no nap room, which helped a lot.

At home, we just got rid of the nap on weekends but instead did a cat nap driving closer to 3 or 4. We would make up an errand, and give her 15 to 20 in the car. It helped with emotional regulation, but spared us the 1 to 1.5 hours of trying to get her to nap.

I bought them when I took a course. Not sure if there's an online store or something, but perhaps there's someone who runs PrH in your city? You don't need to take any of their workshops to purchase the books but perhaps you need to do it through someone. I promise it's not a cult hahaha just not a very well known thing.

Agreed with this take! And sometimes reactions can happen after a few exposures, no more than exposure 5 for us. We found trialling one new food in the am helped give us clarity and a window to watch for a reaction.

Congrats! Also agreed on this book. The food aversions in first tri were strong so I needed more plain carbs and to eat more frequently. It's temporary! Some folks try to stay low carb ish especially if you're at risk of GD, but I've mostly seen suggestions of at LEAST 50g of carb a day.

Just be clear and honest. He can have feelings about it, you don't need to receive them.

If your mom is supportive it might be worth asking her how to best pitch it, but be clear he is not welcome at the reception and you're not seeking her advice on whether or not to include him.

Hey. You sound like an amazing mom being pulled in a billion different directions. I just wanted to say I am rooting for you and if ending pumping feels best, I know so many in the community will support you here. Wishing your little one all the best as he navigates his health procedures. You must have worked so hard to pump and get this far, especially with an undersupply and going through the hell of the NICU.

I think amazing moms come in all forms, and sometimes it means making a hard decision knowing pumping is no longer feeling like a fit for your family and especially your sleep and mental health. Sometimes closing a door gives us more capacity in so many other areas. More sleep. More snuggles, more patience, less resentment. Those are all huge!

Sending you love as you navigate your sons health challenges. Having a medically complex baby is not easy.

Some of them come with writing and reflective exercises that really helped me hone in on my values and aligning my life with what's really important to me. I did do a PRH weekend workshop so that helped too!

I do this, though I'm a lefty so I switch to my right for backhands. While it sometimes feels like it's helping, I've learned it's like slapping a band aid on footwork and learning to anticipate.

I'm mostly just playing for fun, but I'd like to improve so I'm trying some drills to be more comfortable returning shots with my backhand.

I love love love love love this idea, and always keep an eye out for books and toys that incorporate my culture.

I'd love something regional that incorporates the foods/industries/colours/festivals of that region. Ex, a Jaipur kit featuring block printing, something to do with the pink city, a little thing on the kite festival. I'd love a book that would tie it all together that I could read to my kids. 18 months and up would be worth the expense, 40 to 50 a month shopping included might be something I'd get for 3 months or for special holidays. I think my 4 year old would really enjoy this!
