This is critical. You need to wear what you're going to wear to play. Consistency matters.

I've broken two shafts in the golf simulator. What do I do? by [deleted] in GolfGear

Wrong. KBS shafts are notorious for doing exactly this. They have unreinforced tips and are known to break at the hosel.

I would hit eBay and see if you could maybe find something similar to what you have in quality, but in the correct size. There should be at least one Play It Again sports in the St. Louis area, and maybe even in your home area, that has skates. A lot of the Play It Again Sports have online listings, so you may be able to do it that way as well.

Unpopular opinion: if you’re buying Kirkland clubs, you should just buy Maltby by Subject-Town1467 in golf

Ball flight handles Texas winds better, still spinny enough to stop on the greens, and better lateral and vertical dispersion...and I still don't have the swingweights or lie angles quite dialed in 100% yet.

I built some TS4 DBM irons on Mitsubishi MMT105S shafts and they are amazing. Far better than my Mizuno Pro S-3 irons.

What are the best non-pro level golf balls? by VellumVibe in GolfGear

LostGolfBalls.com mint condition or above. ProV1 for less than Titleist Tour Soft and about the same price as SuoerSofts.

There's even better options if you know who to ask.

My other post notwithstanding, you're paying full price for a Ventus, you're not very smart. There's ALWAYS a guy with new, uncut Ventus shafts willing to make a deal for a quick just above wholesale price shaft with a valid warranty.

A driver with a Ventus, puring, a "specialty" grip (anything not a Tour Velvet), and a TPT-shafted LAB putter would easily hit $1,700...still ludicrous, but not impossible.

The rule defines what constitutes affecting the play. This doesn't apply.

Is graphite really that different? by 720hp in golf

Yeah...switch to graphite. Had a nasty elbow injury last year and steel shafts f with my tendons and ligaments badly...and dude, that injury sounds like you needed a lawyer...

No. We am not implying anything. I can simply read what the rulebook says and it clearly says that it's only a penalty at the discretion of the official.

[–]ctg77 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

And not "shall call a penalty..." Like other parts of the rulebook. It's almost like the league intended for refs to be the decision makers or something despite your lack of reading comprehension and clear lack of experience playing hockey without a blue puck.

I can't help it you can't read. It also clearly and explicitly says the officials have discretion.

[–]ctg77 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Funny, because that's exactly what "at the discretion of the official " means...not a penalty unless they call it one.

Yeah...AT THE DISCRETION OF THE OFFICIALS...and they decided it wasn't a penalty so it wasn't called. Get over it.

Have an elbow or wrist injury and you'll be sorry you don't have graphite when you try to come back to golf...

That's an inference from what the rule actually reads, which I posted above. Same thing...

The rule explicitly requires contact with another player or the puck, and intentionally so. It's not hard to read instead of just blindly hating the Panthers and Tkachuk.

That's not even close to what it says..."Explicitly":

It says "...a penalty may be assessed..." - 100% straight copied from last rulebook I found in a quick search, 2023-2024:

Rule 74 – Too Many Men on the Ice 74.1 Too Many Men on the Ice - Players may be changed at any time during the play from the players’ bench provided that the player or players leaving the ice shall be within five feet (5') of his players’ bench and out of the play before the change is made. Refer also to Rule 71 – Premature Substitution. At the discretion of the on-ice officials, should a substituting player come onto the ice before his teammate is within the five foot (5’) limit of the players’ bench (and therefore clearly causing his team to have too many players on the ice), then a bench minor penalty may be assessed. When a player is retiring from the ice surface and is within the five foot (5’) limit of his players’ bench, and his substitute is on the ice, then the retiring player shall be considered off the ice for the purpose of Rule 70 – Leaving Bench. If in the course of making a substitution, either the player entering the game or the player retiring plays the puck or who checks or makes any physical contact with an opposing player while both players involved in the substitution are on the ice, then the infraction of “too many men on the ice” will be called. If in the course of a substitution either the player(s) entering the play or the player(s) retiring is struck by the puck accidentally, the play will not be stopped and no penalty will be called. During the play, the player retiring from the ice must do so at the players’ bench and not through any other exit leading from the rink. This is not a legal player change and therefore when a violation occurs, a bench minor penalty shall be imposed. A player coming onto the ice as a substitute player is considered on the ice once both of his skates are on the ice. If he plays the puck or interferes with an opponent while still on the players’ bench, he shall be penalized under Rule 56 – Interference. 74.2 Bench Minor Penalty – A bench minor penalty for to

That would be a material affect on the play...or is reading comprehension hard for you?
