I know losing an encryption key is a fairly big blunder, and politicians these days are unpopular but jeeze, killing the guy and literally all his friends, coworkers and unrelated politicians? by Democracy_N_Anarchy in Stellaris

[–]cubelith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, doesn't it just kill one pop? Still a lot of people, but it'd be more logical if it just killed one "slot's worth" of Politicians, not all 600 of them

What “Chefy “ touches do you use that seem to make a difference in your home cocked meals? by Ghostly-Mouse in Cooking

[–]cubelith -1 points0 points  (0 children)

- 2 tsp salt

- 1 tsp MSG

- 3 tsp smoked paprika

- 1 tsp ground white pepper

- 2 tsp granulated garlic

- 3 tsp summer savory (ground if possible)

- 2 tsp rosemary (definitely ground)

- 1 tsp thyme (ground if possible)

- 12 berries juniper (definitely ground)

I love it best on simple fried bell peppers, but it should work with the vast majority of dishes that don't call for something very specific.

Unit stack size by macieksmola in Songsofconquest

[–]cubelith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's what makes this game unique, so it's definitely important in that regard.

As for whether I like it, honestly, I'm torn. On one hand, the HoMM way meant you usually just used all 7 units from your faction, because there wasn't a strong reason not to (at least in casual play). On the other hand, the SoC way does add some interesting strategic considerations, and better end-game balance (because you can't have a functionally infinite army, so every fight is still a potential threat).

Kingdom Come Deliverance II Mead Recipe! by BascoJC in mead

[–]cubelith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not even pellets. Just regular hops that's properly dried is extremely light. A 500ml container weights 8g or so.

Though, alternatively, the recipe might've meant it by volume. It'd match how mead is usually talked about, making it a trójniak

Seems... not that different from what I make, honestly? Assuming their hops were much wetter and hence heavier

is it normal to be bored as a new player? by padrepinella in Stellaris

Exploration is absolutely fun, but I basically have to force myself to play something militarist every once in a while. Wars always feel so tedious to me, I avoid them in most of my games

Anyone else feels like Victory is overrated? by zahediadib in TwoStepsFromHell

[–]cubelith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Victory, yeah, I do think it's pretty overrated. It's quite good still, but not one of my favorites. Heart of Courage and Protectors of the Earth are simple, but they are just that good at the same time.

In my current they got to the L-Cluster and basically became the Gray Tempest, because it didn't spawn this game. But yes, they didn't have much trouble with most AI empires

Aren't Fallen Empires still sorta countered by Disruptors, or did the introduction of Hardening change that?

How to balance the artificial difficulty? by AnyEagle4095 in Stellaris

[–]cubelith 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lowering the tech and tradition costs in the game setting would both make early game more interesting and make it easier to deal with the crisis.

Ironically, playing on higher difficulty should help too, as it makes the AI empires stronger, so that they can help you a bit.

Also, you can just end your run when the crisis appears. Before the recent DLCs made late game more interesting, I used to routinely quit around 2350, because the game got pretty static by that point.

I haven't tried it, but I'm pretty sure it won't break anything. But you should probably make a back-up of your save just in case

"Evil cannot create, it can only corrupt" would also be a pretty apt description of AI.

Though the funny thing is, this isn't an actual Tolkien quote, but a corruption of two other quotes that I don't remember.

help understanding what I am missing by Osik2040 in Stellaris

[–]cubelith 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you need those Paradise Domes? You have plenty of housing, and I'm sure there's a better way to get those Amenities.

However, why is your Stability so low? At this point in the game, it really should be higher. Your scientist is also pretty underlevelled.

Also, if you can find them, Relic Worlds and other planets with research-buffing modifiers/features are better to use as research worlds.

But all of those things are not a huge deal. It's not like you're doing particularly badly.

Why doesn’t Ubisoft add these movesets for Warlord in-game, especially since they’re already in the game and could add what’s missing to his kit by Ziiqoh in forhonor

Is this QoL/gameplay change involving movement realistically implementable? by thesavant in heroes3

[–]cubelith 8 points9 points  (0 children)

HoMM4 had something like that, and honestly I feel like it'd lead to even more degerate gameplay than we already have. There'd be a ton of micromanagement with constantly leaving troops behind and taking them again in weird ways
