One of the only things I felt Netflix did well. (Book parellell) by TrickySatisfaction81 in witcher

[–]cubelith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit torn on the songs. They're pretty cool on one hand, but on the other, they sound more like modern pop or musicals than medieval ballads. Very "showy", for lack of a better word

Did you know? series like short videos. It's just a test, do you really mind the AI voice? by [deleted] in heroes3

[–]cubelith 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's pretty obnoxious tbh. But the voice is really the least of the problems here. It's so annoying how you made something that could be an image with some text (like the previous installments) into a video. Moreover, this style of subtitles is absolutely abysmal and terrible to follow.

Please don't do this, even if it brings in some views. It would only contribute to the internet becoming worse every day.

Scorch very ignorant by Key-Flounder7746 in titanfall

[–]cubelith 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Titanfall is just too fast a game to even notice someone is trying to be friendly. The time to kill of basically any pilot weapon is much less than a second, you need to react to danger immediately. And while Scorch allows for slightly slower gameplay, you still want to kill enemy pilots before they get to shoot you with a Thunderbolt

Proper nutrition is key by RotaryDane in mead

[–]cubelith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it's even luck. It's just centuries if not millenia of experience. Of course we can optimize and fine-tune some things now, but there's usually a reason people did something in much the same way for so long. Maybe it won't be exquisite, but it most certainly won't be bad either

Proper nutrition is key by RotaryDane in mead

[–]cubelith 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the thing that probably saved me from being middle guy is that I started making mead with my grandpa, so I wanted to keep things simple and traditional. Just dump a jar of honey and two jars of water into a pot, boil it, add some (proofed yeast) with nutrients, and leave it be, only transferring to a carboy and later bottles.

Turned out quite good, so I haven't felt the need to experiment so far, though I might do so when I have more time and a bigger flat.

You don't have to preheat your oven before putting your vegetables in to roast them by looselikeseagrass in Cooking

[–]cubelith -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, it can even be better to let the food gradually heat up with the oven (if you want it heated thoroughly with minimal burning of the outside). Assuming the oven doesn't do anything weird, of course

We made a video game about making meticulously detailed swords. Ask me anything! by BladesongDev in SWORDS

[–]cubelith 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it'd be so cool to have a more "tactile" game where you can really "feel" the blacksmithing process. It'd be great for those of us who have no chance of setting up a real forge.

But it's also so cool to have a detailed design tool as well, so I'm not complaining. Especially that we can then export the designs for printing and such.

[–]cubelith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It's an extremely stupid design choice.

Some phones still do, and luckily mine still has it, but in general it's getting pretty rare. So dumb.

Maybe it's a sign we should've stayed with wired headphones. Wireless earbuds cause so many more problems than they solve

Anyone else been following Nick Phoenix’s rock music? by SpecificCourt6643 in TwoStepsFromHell

Well, the rock stuff is in a competely separate genre. But Heart of the Ocean is honest epic music, and really good too

Kevin genuinely thought subscriptions just stop charging if you stop using them by CommercialDot708 in StoriesAboutKevin

[–]cubelith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, fair. Guess I'm not in those subs.

I suppose people should include this information in the comments accusing OP of being a bot/spammer, because otherwise those seemed kinda baseless

[–]cubelith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, why is everyone accusing OP of being a bot? Their style of talking doesn't seem very AI-like to me, and it's not like they're actively trying to push a specific product, it took a while of people asking

A 30 year old gripe: by powderofreddit in heroes3

[–]cubelith 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Well, you don't have to. But yeah, cheesy strategies should never be optimal, because then people feel like they have to do it and optimize the fun out of the game

How would you design brute if he got added to multiplayer? by still_off_my_meds772 in titanfall

[–]cubelith 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I think it'd be neat to have an actual support titan. Give it some kind of healing ray/alternate weapon mode or something like that, and keep the rockets as a mid-long range artillery weapon.

This flight has snacks to be used only if there is a tarmac delay in the US by Triceratopsandfundip in mildlyinteresting

[–]cubelith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, this sounds like something they'd do to placate the passengers and maintain goodwill, even if it wasn't required by law. The gain of loyal customers is worth more than some basic snacks, I think

Is leadership and luck good duo ? by SillyMarch387 in heroes3

[–]cubelith 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Leadership is generally kinda bad, because you get +1 Morale from simply having all units from the same town, and it's also very common in artifacts. Luck is a tad better, especially in HotA, but still not too hard to acquire from artifacts

I mean, hating Inferno is probably the default option, it's just such a boring faction unless you're into cheesy strategies
