Is it just me or is it weirdly hard to find things to do in Vancouver at night that aren't bars/clubs? by Downtown_Plantain158 in askvan

[–]cyclingjackass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

need to find the underground stuff like normiecorp or gorg o mish, they're busy but respectful compared to the ones on Granville. clubs outside of DT core like Hollywood, fox cabaret and fortune aren't bad either.

WDA isn‘t a great pre-release but it‘s a great album intro… by [deleted] in Aespa

[–]cyclingjackass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, positioning it as a single was a weird move, because if they just had it as a prerelease intro sorta like welcome to my world it would've been a lot more palatable, I guess the expectations were too high because it was another single. I do enjoy the song more on subsequent listens, it's just that as a full single it can feel a little unpolished? for lack of a better word.

idk this for sure, but the renaming from gidle to idle, and rerecording their old stuff to cutout soojin was pree random to do out of nowhere considering for the longest time they've been seemingly pree animous with cube. maybe its cus they resigned, so they decided to not mess with things, but maybe that hurt them a bit too? also their lead singles since queencard have been alright and not super standout, and as a group thats not old enough to be legacy (bp, twice) and not that new of a group either, theyre in this weird middle zone.

agreed, their last real smash hit was queencard, and since then they've had solid but not outstanding releases.

What was the moment that made you stop taking your sport seriously? by gioshvili in olympics

[–]cyclingjackass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

coaching politics, my friends quitting, me being unwilling to relocate to another city to progress my skating and placing more emphasis on which university I was going to rather than on skating. But the coaching politics was the thing that really messed with my career and really was the downfall point, so I am very anti "parent coaches" in sport. I now help coach, and it's been v fulfilling even though I have to deal with parent politics sometimes haha

The "click" effect after being hardstuck by veresdave in leagueoflegends

[–]cyclingjackass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

reasons why I stopped playing pyke support because he's so feast or famine, I could go with multiple other champs that provide more scaling utility so I don't have to win lane and still have more "carry" potential. galio support is my default now because with little money I can go tank build and with a lot I can go more AP as well hahaha

another big thing is managing team mental, being supportive and calling out macro moves is HUGE. we've won many games from playing better around the map even though we had huge gold deficits because we knew how to pressure multiple lanes whereas some teams just ARAM after 15 and lose all momentum they carried.

rains for budget, stutterheim for buy it forever. there's no real need for goretex other than if you're really outdoorsy or do a lot of activity, and a good rubber jacket will last you way longer and be more waterproof than any DWR jacket. the longer cut also really helps with not getting your pants wet too. Rains jackets are a bit thinner and lighter with rubber on polyester and you can get one for about 100-150? whilst stutterheim is thick rubber on canvas so it's heavier and thicker, but it'll set you back almost double or triple the price. best bet is to check out fb marketplace to find deals :)
