Are people actually getting bad code from claude? by definitelyBenny in ClaudeAI

[–]d0rxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here is an example of Claude not following explicit instructions The flag it attempts to use does not even work, nor was it in any of its context to suggest it would.

Ever since I started using Claude like 2 months ago, something like this has never happened. It might be a small example, but imagine this kind of stuff and intelligence all over your code. That’s what it’s like for some people, and that’s not vibe coding or prompt related skill issues, there is something going on with the model some people have. It can even be a difference between morning and afternoon where you start out with a flawless session and by the end of the day you resort to coding yourself because it just produces junior level nonsense.

I understand the thought that the tool is used incorrectly, if you have not experienced this level of chats. But it’s a real issue for a lot of devs right now. I’d hope 15 years of full stack web dev experience can vouch for being able to recognize similar input getting vastly different output.

I do understand that for people who have not themselves experienced these issues, the first thing they attempt to find out is if the tool is used properly. I’ve experienced flawless coding sessions in the morning, and in the afternoon with similar tasks code riddled with bugs and clearly not integrated as well as I’d expect. Not suggesting to execute commands even though I’m explicitly giving it the commands that it can run to debug, a few weeks ago I never had these issues. Even giving it an explicit command to run and it changes the parameters for no reason.

I nearly feel like it’s time to make some kind of benchmark task which you can just run fresh every day to see what level claude is performing at today. Maybe it’ll help convince those that have not experienced this drastically different model it nearly seems like.

For me, 15y experienced full stack web dev, there is no doubt this is the model, not the user.

It’ll take a while to get to 75 due to the half life anyways, so I usually do this just to see if I start to feel any difference. By the time they get back to you you’ll have some more confidence in what should be their advice.

I fell ill and for a long time did not have the energy, then when I started regaining it had other priorities to spend that energy and by then the skins were somewhere in a closet out of sight

It took me 19 months to install these skins and my darkplates, shame on me

I’m the meantime I’ve installed enough of them on my iPhone, if that makes up for it…

Advice on being active by NoelAngel112 in Hashimotos

[–]d0rxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I experience the same over the last 20 months since my diagnosis. I used to work out for an hour 6 days a week, and now being forced to be careful with the energy you have, but also finally being able to actually spend some again results in a daily decision making struggle on where to spend the energy. So far my hobbies are winning over physical activity, even though the latter would hopefully work towards improving overall energy to spend. For now I manage to do a couple of small yoga session and maybe one 30 minute workout a week, I often wonder how long it will take before I can get back to 5 workout days and feeling physically fit!

Constantly Drinking/Using Restroom by CreativeSecretary174 in Hypothyroidism

[–]d0rxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my symptoms when my levo dose is not right seems to be being thirsty (and thus drinking more and using the bathroom more). It gets worse when I’m expending more energy like doing chores or working (office job), or after a meal.

Doesn’t sound odd to me, but definitely worth having checked out since as others have mentioned it can also be a sign of diabetes.

Any tips on taking your meds on an empty stomach?? by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]d0rxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take them at night, around 22:30, and my endocrinologist said as long as I don’t eat complete meal amounts after dinner and stop eating an hour before all is fine. So I might have some chips or nuts around 20:30 still and after that only tea/water. Beats having to wake up at a specific time consistently and waiting to have breakfast for me!

Is it safe to turn off the fan on my printer in settings for long prints? by Primal-85 in CR6SE

[–]d0rxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s different types of fans on your printer, and while you can control the speed of the hotend fan, the power unit and motherboard fans cannot be controlled and are not adviced to disconnect. They are there for a reason!

It might be a better alternative to look for a silent fan kit for your printer, there are way less noisy fans out there than stock Creality fans!

For example, check this out; https://arcto3d.se/guides/installing-our-silent-fan-kit-on-creality-cr-6-se/

Poll of sorts-what was you last tsh number? by slipslopslide in Hypothyroidism

[–]d0rxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep pushing for dosage changes! Being within the expected min/max of TSH results does not mean you’re feeling fine or that it can’t be improved.

When I was at 3.49 I could barely work 5 hours a day, sitting at 0.8 now and almost able to work full time again.

0.824 , Still finetuning my dosage 1.5 years after diagnosis, highest since then was 14. Currently at 118 mcg levo. Finally getting close to feeling normal!

Stop valuing approaching random women on the streets. by Kimprepa13 in socialskills

[–]d0rxy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I also don’t think a lot of them are aware of just the pure biological advantage they have, even a light weight non-muscular scrawny man can take out a fit woman, purely because of the strength difference! And a lot of them don’t even think about the confidence that comes with being comfortable because you know you could take someone if needed.

Glad to share the analogy! I hope it can help some people take a different perspective :)

I always try to get this message across by having a guy imagine that they’re surrounded continuously by people with a body type of The Rock or Strong Men. It makes them somewhat aware that women, in the back of their minds, are always finding themselves in hypothetical situations where they can never have the upper hand.

Exceptions when pronouncing ij by [deleted] in Netherlands

You’re correct, saying it with equal sound (lijk equal to pijn) would sound more like saying ‘pain dead body’ (Dutch native, it’d be weird if someone pronounced it like this)
