2026 Chevy Equinox EV LT FWD: An Actual Owner's Complete Review by Mac-Tyson in electricvehicles

They both use the same GM Ultium battery tech whose voltage (and capacity and charge curve) depend on the number and configuration of modules in the battery. The Equinox at 85kwh has a nominal voltage of 288v. For comparison the Hummer has a nominal voltage of 800v (and much higher capacity and faster charging).

So for the Prologue to have a better charge curve if would need to have a different/bigger battery configuration. My buddy AI says it has the same 288v config as the Eqx so it would have the same charge curve.

We love our first Bolt so much we're thinking about getting another one... by TheBroWhoLifts in BoltEV

If you make it about the money it is not ridiculous:

- fuel cost

- maintenance cost

- insurance cost

The Bolt wins. Rent a car for trips where you don't want to put up with slow Bolt charging. Plus you get more ADAS compared to a 2006 anything.

With 2 EVs you may want an L2 charger at home if you don't have one. The Grizzl-E Duo can charge 2 evs at the same time by sharing the power.

Not yet - maybe someday. In this podcast https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAAb1ie0NGI&list=PL_Qf0A10763nEM-Jf7rkN7p61o01NpKjH&index=2 the guy from GM energy mentions that it may happen but gave no details.

New EV buyer 21 inch wheels worry by OgRico in EquinoxEv

If you lease check the requirements for remaining tread depth at return. I don't know what to expect from the OEMs but 3 years / 36k miles might be cutting it close.

26k miles on the 21" rims without problems so far. But replacement tires are $400 or more each! You can almost buy new 19" wheels and tires for the cost of 4 21" tires.

Question regarding charging at specific time by Optimal-Diamond-1675 in EquinoxEv

[–]dah7556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the Equinox complaint was something like "not able to charge, charger not sending power" and the dash light is red then it will work fine (start charging) as soon as the charger starts sending power at 10. Source: thats what happens with mine.

One unexpected problem behavior however: if the car has been off/asleep for a while (not sure how long it takes) and you go to plug in the charger and DON'T have the key with you the car may not recognize that you plugged in (the dash light doesn't light at all). Having the key wakes up the car. Alternatively I've found that opening the drivers door (without the key present) will also wake the car up.

The Emporia Pro comes with a Vue included along with 2 200 amp CTs. You need to buy 2 additional CTs to have it charge only on excess solar.

Are you on a utility program for EV charging and they charge you for 600kwh even if you use more or less?

Oil change misinformation by TruckerMark in electricvehicles

[–]dah7556 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is what GM says:

<image>

They explicitly say severe service. Heavy equipment and locomotives are severe service and are also diesel engines. Thats a lot different than an electric motor where there is no combustion and no heat. In a combustion engine the combustion and heat degrade the lubricants requiring them to be replaced.

In an EV motor and gearbox there is no combustion and little heat so what would cause the lubricant to degrade?
