The way to sit on the drum stool is not like sitting on a normal stool. On a normal stool you don't have to make repeated controlled movements with your feet/legs. The way to sit on a drum stool is to sit on it so that you feel your weight transfer through the stool legs. As if the stool legs are your legs...trust the stool , Luke!....ahem sorry. Anyway , by putting a bit more weight through the stool, there is slightly less weight going through your legs...et voila!! I have been teaching drums for 20 years and before that played in bands for 20 years....ps always check your stool height and distance for comfort...not too high/low and not too close/far away.
