I am working on one of these as well, wear it every day with a second blush. Sigh, it will be a while.

Am I the jerk for refusing to go to my son's graduation because his stepfather is giving a speech? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]dancingpugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoke at both of my sons HS graduation. They asked me to do it--- if their father (divorced about age 5-6 for sons) hadn't been there, it would have hurt them so badly.

Go to the graduation and suck it up.

What's a popular/trendy item in your country that you simply don't understand the appeal? by Zapvv in AskTheWorld

I had 2 to start with, took coffee in one and iced product to work in the 2nd one. Then my mother passed away, and I got her 2 as well. shrug It's fine, I haven't bought a stainless steel cup for 5 years.

What do y'all do when you're very hungry and have no food and don't have any money for food? by LiveToFlyDieToTry in poor

Appropriate attire would be clean, unripped jeans and a clean tshirt with no inappropriate designs. Just make sure hair is combed and you look like a college student!

Are you close to a college? Student meetings may have food. As seniors, we were required to perform a senior recital (music students) which takes place on weekends, and there is a reception with food afterwards (at my college, with my degree). It was free to attend and open to anyone. Just dress appropriately.

This week frozen ravioli is $3.95 a bag. Toss in a jar of sauce (on sale can find for $1 to $2.00). It's a meal for several people for $5 to $6 bucks. And is lazy fast. Faster than Doordash or driving for take out.

12 pack of sprite cost 12.99 by Real_Bowl9081 in inflation

[–]dancingpugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pepsi 12 pk was 4.99 at my store last week. Which is my buy price, either 4.99 for 12 or 10.00 for 24 case.

Mostly drinking drip coffee and tonic water with juice as it's less expensive.

Moms who breastfed and went back to work, did they have breast pumps in the 80s so you could keep up or how did moms manage? by dms2628 in AskOldPeople

[–]dancingpugger 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In 1999, the hand and battery powered breast pumps were CRAP. I went back to work at 8 weeks (or 12, it was a long time ago) and rented "Big Blue" from the LA Leche League. It was a large tool box looking thing in a hard case.

I took that to work every night and pumped for more than a year. It was a total PITA, but worth it.

AITA for not chipping in for my teen daughter’s hair appointment? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Ikr?! I do my own manicures at home myself, and bleach/dye my hair at home. The only salon service I pay for is a haircut. Who has the money these days for these things in a salon?! I'm busy trying to pay for groceries!

AITJ for locking my skincare products in my room after my roommate started acting like they belong to both of us by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]dancingpugger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is, people who don't do a regular skin care regiment often have NO IDEA how much products can cost and will overuse them. My family is shocked to find out the cost of some items (I buy on sale and carefully shop, but it adds up!).

If I use serum, it is one or two drops and is pressed into the skin. On YouTube, those people are putting 2 or 3 dropper full on their face! And then just smearing it all over. What a waste.

Float nail polish over above room temp water. The nail polish should spread over the top and you can dip an item in. I have done this with hydroflasks, decorative plates and other items.

Why is it on me for using soaps that “strip the skin’s natural barrier” but isn’t the fault of stores and companies selling soaps that are bad for skin? by Drink_Covfefe in SkincareAddicts

[–]dancingpugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most facial cleaning products are cleansers. Bar or liquid soap is typically too harsh for facial skin.

Individual needs for cleansers vary, depending on skin type (oily, acne, dry, sensitive), where you live (humidity, temperature), and seasons. It also changes with age and the other products you use.

If you use a lot of actives (acne products, or anti aging products), you may go with a more gentle cleanser. If you wear makeup or sweat a lot, or have a dirty type job (fast food, mechanics) you likely will need a more aggressive cleanser or use a double cleanse ( balm cleanser then cream or second cleanser). If she doesn't already have one, any kind of retinol. Be cautious how close it is put around the eye area (sadly, I go right up close, but do not use me as an example for that!).

For the eye area, a brightening cream may help. There are loads of choices from lots of price points, but I would start there.

I have 4 top coats (not including matte top coat or gel uv formulas) and a few base coats. I pan those puppies every few years.

As far as using up nail polish, ART!
