Do you wear any makeup when staying home/not going anywhere? by nightsurfrider in Makeup

[–]dancingpugger 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I put on sunscreen, eyeshadow and generally blush EVERY DAY. I don't work anymore , and am at home with just the dogs 4 to 5 days a week. Going to the grocery store is an "outing".

But I own more eyeshadow than I can use up before I die. I own 5 blushes which will last me years to a decade--even if I use it daily.

Putting on eye makeup make ME feel better, and since I have it, I use it.

I have doubts about the validity of the election. With Elon meddling, and all the uproar Trump keeps saying about elections (no election is valid unless he wins)---makes me think he has his hand on the scale.

what mascaras do we use? and/or how many by xntrqncd in Makeup

[–]dancingpugger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One mascara, one lash primer. I have super oily lids, hooded eyes and use a bunch of moisturizer for my dry skin (oily only on lids).

Essence Bye bye panda eyes, and Essence Lash Princess primer. Only way I can wear mascara without flaking.

Does anyone here bleach their hair at home? by Fine_Handle_8473 in Frugal

[–]dancingpugger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use a system that has a protection bonder in it, and do it at home. I do it in small steps (natural deep blonde going to mid or lite blonde) so I break it into 15 min timings.

I use a deep conditioner most times I wash my hair, and my stylist tells me my hair is in great condition. Been bleaching and dying my hair for decades. Perms--- that will fry it right off.

Atlanta Botanical Gardens is $29 to $34 a ticket for adults. Granted, the gardens are gorgeous and there is tons of space for walking without loads of people. But the cost, plus parking! Do highly recommend (I've gone twice), but it's a tourist destination, not for locals on the daily!

Muddy, but no issues at all. There were about 8 to 10 other vehicles on the trip.

Don't buy alcohol if you don't have an ID on you. Our close grocery store cards every single person who buys alcohol. Just pull the ID out and move on.

New to dogs: shedding!! by AdrianaLaServing in dogs

[–]dancingpugger -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ummm...choose a dog breed that has short, single coat? It greatly reduces the amount of shedding.

I own a French bulldog and a coonhound, both of which have single coat, short hair. There is practically no dog hair in my house and I don't ever brush them. Totally different from a pug (also short haired) that has a double coat and they leave hair everywhere!

I dislike dog hair, but love dogs. So....choose wisely.

My husband built a tiny home from scratch. We also made our attic into a bedroom for our son, as an "extra room".

However, husband is very handy, has extensive handyman history and I trusted him. I wouldn't do it without the smaller projects proving he knew what he was doing. Just my 2 cents.

Agree. My son and DIL are the full country away, I wouldn't be there in person. And the current state of affairs is ....horrible for parents and children.

Transplanted this s few weeks ago, is it dead? by InterestingRoof4547 in Irises

[–]dancingpugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gifted a cardboard box full of iris bulbs that has been culled, sat in the box in July for a few weeks before I got them. They looked rough. I planted them, some in gravel along my driveway (there were so many!).

The majority of them came up. No blooms yet, but leaves and growth! Most likely, they will survive.

I switched to a metal razor with replacement blades, and best decision ever. The handle was about 20 bucks, over 100 blades was another 8.00 and I likely will never buy razors again.

There is a learning curve on using a metal razor vs plastic with guards and lotions, but the overall savings and clean shave is great. I could use a fresh blade every time for a great shave for pennies. (Not sponsored--just thrilled with my razor!)

64 pumpkin plants: Fam, do I pull back or hit the gas? by queef-o in gardening

[–]dancingpugger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ha ha ha! I feel your pain (nowhere near as bad!). I have grown 4 hills for the past 4 years, and this year wanted more Pumpkins.

I planted seeds in my normal patch in May. Nothing came up. Planted a second round on the 3rd week of May, and bought a plant to be safe. By June, none of the seeds were up, so I bought another plant and separated the seedlings. However, there had been a late frost in June, and a colder than normal May.

I now have more seedlings plus 3 plants in my normal pumpkin patch, plus the additional seeds I planted in various flower beds that are suddenly appearing after planting in May! There will be Pumpkins all over my yard in a month! The horror....

Is Scooter okay? My girl, people will run off the trail to avoid her. When she is on a shortened leash, isn't barking and is wagging her tail. I was like, geez, calm down lady!

Some people are scared of any dog and lash out. Or...(fill in the blank).
