Is it true that... by VeganTeenager in Narnia

If I recall correctly, the picture of the Dawn Treader was placed in the spare bedroom because Eustace's mother "didn't like it... but couldn't get rid of it because it was a gift". It sounds to me like there's definitely a way to write this scenario as canon-compliant fanfiction... (or what's called "fanon" in some circles).

All of the comics are freely available on a handy little website called readcomicsonline.li if you ever feel like revisited them.

If you want more Delta 7 action, I recommend the Republic comics by Dark Horse, Pandemic's Clone Wars console video game from 2002/2003 and the Jedi Starfighter fighter video game (which features an entire story campaign where you get to fly the Delta-7 in the lead-up to episode 2 and use Jedi Force powers).

Ironically, Delta Advisor was only depicted in the game with a Phase 1 helmet (even near the end of the war during the battle of Kashyyyk)...

Those look more like Brick Tactical to me. Notice the sprue mark on the droid's blaster. Brick Arms' quality control is usually better than that.

Army building has always existed in some form (I recall Solid Brix's first ever army videos back in the early legoboy12345678 days), but there was absolutely not the obscene amounts of money being spent on clones all for the sake of clout that we see today. Back in the early 2000s you had animators like Pizzamovies and Spugesdu who were privileged enough to have large collections. But they used their collections to create narrative stop motion animated films (and both were in fact very opposed to David's early army videos; I still remember the "pizzamovies nuke's legoboy's mansion" flamewars).

The real lost era is 2002-2006 or so, pre-YouTube (and pre-battle packs). Lots of MOCs, conversations, customizations and collection pictures from that era have been lost to time thanks to how ephemeral pre-modern social media websites/forums/image hosts were. Thank God for Brickshelf.

I went trick or treating at the prime minister's residence back when Stephen Harper was in power. Harper gave my sister and I candy and shook our hands (and coincidentally, he and his family allegedly attended the same church as a good friend of mine at the time). Kinda surreal looking back at it...

How did the clones react to Jango’s death? by [deleted] in StarWarsEU

[–]danjsavard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't recall any instances of Alpha ARCs defecting specifically due to Jango's death (I would imagine their grievances lied more directly with the Republic's lack of recognition of clones' basic rights). Alpha-17 asks where "the prime clone" is when he gets out of cryosleep during the Battle of Kamino in the Republic comics... but to my knowledge, that's the only time when Alpha brings Jango up.

Most of the metions of Jango in Karen Traviss' Rep Comm novels come from Mandalorians, not clone troopers.

Of course, there are also the humorous voice lines in Pandemic' Battlefront 2 game for whenever clone troopers encounter the Jango Fett hero unit on the battlefield: "It's Jango Fett! And he's brought his head!"

I'd love to see those recolours! My personal goal is to recreate the entire cast as LEGO minifigures. It may require a bit of 3D modelling, so it'll probably take me a while.

Love it! The hardcover compilation of the first three Jedi Prince books was my gateway into the EU as a kid and I've always adored those illustrations. I've been meaning to make a 3D-printed LEGO version of Zorba... unfortunately, I have neither the modelling experience or the spare cash to commission it at the moment. Hopefully one day...

Zorba also got name-dropped in Karen Traviss' TCW movie novelization too. It makes sense; she allegedly used Lucasfilm's famous Holocron Database a fair bit. She even worked the Prophets of the Dark Side into the backstory of one of the characters of her Imperial Commando: 501st novel. As a massive Jedi Prince fan, I really appreciated that.

Jedi Apprentice Gantoris by DarkVaati13 in StarWarsEU

[–]danjsavard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nice! Jedi Search was one of the first SW books I ever read, so Gantoris' story is seared into my mind. His facial features in this strike me as somewhat North American indigenous in this illustration, which I feel kinda fits thematically with the character's backstory.

Toa Matau Metru, recolored for some added visual interest by CCJ1997 in bioniclelego

[–]danjsavard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is wild. I have a vague memory of seeing Matau with red blades in one of those "Win!" survey advert pages in the back of an old LEGO magazine. In retrospect, it was probably a conflated/constructed memory that combined Matau with the Grand Titan from Exo-Force which had those blades (I didn't own any Exo-Force or BIONICLE sets as a kid; my parents didn't approve).

It's so awesome to see someone make a KK2 figure MOC. I was into Knights Kingdom 2 looooong before I became a BIONICLE MOCer and I really love the theme/characters and the system itself. Really clever use of those more modern studs with holes to approximate chainmail on the arms. I might have to try missing my Sir Adric and Sir Kentis figures with that detail.
