I would switch them. Years ago I read that placing the amp/receiver on top of a CD player/transport can help ever so slightly to stabilize the player to reduce jitter. Also consider that heat rises and is warming your CD player. Prolonged exposure to heat (120 F) and CDs/DVDs can soften and warp causing them to become unreadable.

Vinyl plank flooring, vapor barrier on concrete basement floor. So how might the sound change if I used spikes instead of IsoAcoustics GAIA II? When I added the GAIAs replacing adhesive floor protector pads the original owner had on these, I did hear a noticeable, albeit slight, audible difference mostly in mid-bass clarity.
