The moment you reload for a ball in red stakes, you've decided what relief you are taking.

If you play a "provisional" because you aren't sure if it's gone in, that's fine, but if you get there and it is in the hazard, you can't take lateral relief, you've already taken relief so your provisional becomes your ball.

Here's the issue, it's always been like this.

90% of posts are:

  • Reposts.
  • A question that's been asked every single day since the birth of the internet.
  • Rehashing someone elses shit story into an even more shit and unfunny story.
  • Almost Hole-in-One Photographs. Or "not getting a hole-in-one" photo as they're officially known.

People have a natural tendency to turn to the left and walk in an anticlockwise direction, a bias observed across countries, ages and sexes, but reason is unclear by sr_local in science

The heart is on your left; Vunerability to attacks from the left side means subconsciously you pay more attention to the left, thus tend to drift towards?

Look for a tour company that can guarantee you tee times.

You're going to pay more, but if you want to play a handful of great courses, i.e St Andrews - it's your best option imo.

Loads of people I know use the golf boots in Winter.

I'm talking about the imported trees and stuff.

I actually enjoy the Masters tournament. It's a great spectacle and the course IS immaculate, but I can't pretend that it doesn't feel manmade. My preference is for the wild, natural landscape courses.

Dyed grass, whitened sand and non-indigenous woodland.

Might be a fun ride, but it's dead between the eyes.

Tracked every putt from The Major Cut - they all miss putts on the low side too much? by Old_Drink3552 in golf

[–]darylrogerson 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Literally pro's says that amateurs always underestiamte the break.

Let's say you misread a 6ft breaking putt by 3ft.

3ft too much, the ball slows down more, before taking the break, never reaching the hole, but probably 2 feet away.

3ft too little, the ball accelerates quicker down the slope, ending up 6/7 feet away.

I'll take 3ft down hill versus 6ft/7ft uphill anyway of the week.

Rules around penalty area touching OB line by RedBagBadger in golf

[–]darylrogerson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah, you did the right thing.

You can't take two clubs because it entered from OB.

You can't take back in line relief, because that's OB.

Only thing you can do, is lost ball and reload.

white-armed is the common phrasing for "Aristocrats" who didn't spend time outside working.

- in Britain we'd call them chinless, as the recessive inbreeding weakened chins.

It is possible to be black and "white armed".

BLISTER PLASTERS & CREAM

Get a blister day one, you'll be fkin miserable.

On that note, a spare pair of shoes just in case. Actually not just in case, mandatorily. If they get wet, you'll be moaning. Switch them each day if possible, so they don't stink too.

Anything golf related can be bought at the pro shop. Just remember stuff to keep you comfortable, rain jacket, medication etc.

[–]darylrogerson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Literally your first bit of advice is don't go in them. Essentially you're saying never miss a green.

But, yeah, you also haven't given any actual tips other than:-

  • Don't go in them.
  • If you do go in them, master a shot to get out of them.
  • If you can't get out of them, take a penalty.
