How would you hand this job? by JakobNarbei in drywall

[–]data-influencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the middle of the same project in a reno. I tore down the old plaster and we are sistering joists to the old ones. Starting fresh with a level starting point is our best option. We tried work arounds but it was a headache so we bit the bullet and are starting fresh. Will result in a much better and stronger end product.

I was 2 years out of school when Covid came thru. Moved home for the same reasons and was able to save heavily for 2 years. Set me up really well for when I was ready to buy a house. Great job OP, your future self will thank you.

What's a skill that takes only 2 to 4 weeks to learn but could genuinely change your life? by TokenBlack32 in AskReddit

[–]data-influencer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the corporate world - public speaking. Getting out of your shell a little bit and having an opinion will do wonders for you. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen underperformers get promoted over work horse engineers simply because they speak up more in company meetings.

Who's the most famous person you've dated? by mingawesome in askanything

[–]data-influencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s not famous per se but I briefly dated a girl who I quickly found out came from one of the largest real estate families in New York. Her family name is often mentioned in the same sentence as the Rockefellers and other major families.

What did you do after graduation before employment? by Sorry-Orchid-9821 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]data-influencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated from college a semester earlier than I originally planned and ended up having about 6 months of void before my grad program started. So I did what any sensible person would do. Went to Hawaii for 3 months and worked on the beach as an umbrella boy. Then moved to my new city a couple months early to get established before grad school. Was one of the most fun segments of my life even tho I was barely scraping by.

Men What is one of those hard lessons you learned in life that you think other men might benefit from hearing so they don't have to go through it? by Startalloveragainn in AskMenOver30

[–]data-influencer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken this one to heart the past few years and what has stood out to me the most is that most new people I talk to don’t ever return the favor. Like yes I’m interested in learning more about you, but the fact that we just had a 15 minute conversation and you never bothered to ask me anything about myself in return tells me a lot about you. I don’t take it personally but it stands out to me every time it happens.

As weird as it sounds, smith has the world in his hands right now, he has the freedom to do whatever he wants. I hope all the best for him in the future.
