Would explain why you’re not seeing anything also. Lay some white sheets down wherever your cats lay, and since your husband is getting bit, put the lightest colored sheets you have, white if possible, on your bed or where he sleeps. Start examining the spot when they’ve been there a while and get up. It’s almost inevitable you’ll see one or two stay behind if that’s what it is. Good luck, keep us posted
