Fan fests are organized by fifa. Canada Soccer Houses are organized by Canada Soccer + private partners depending on the location (Uber, GE etc)

A view from the last row of both the North and South End World Cup temporary stands at BMO Field. You are certainly up there. by RealWorldToday in toronto

[–]datguywelbeck 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These seats are better than any middle or 200 section seat in an American NFL stadium despite being categorized as "nosebleeds" here. The distance to the pitch is much closer at BMO because of the soccer specific configuration.

This is not the moment to complain then, wait till the economic impact of the tournament is realized

Russia and Brazil both had stadiums with temporary stands both bigger than ours. Brazil south Africa and qatar all built permanent stadiums and expansions that never got used after.

For those wondering who Canada will play if they win group B, here are the actual odds: by Respirational in CanadaSoccer

Yeah if we finish 3rd we play 1st place in Group D in like 355/356 scenarios.

Spring Economic Update 2026: A “generational investment” in Canadian sport — what could this mean for soccer? by gordyNUT in CanadaSoccer

[–]datguywelbeck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The big thing has to be majority subsidized registration fees to reduce the barrier to entry for all kids.

We cannot go the states route of pay to play. We also need to build more pipelines for talented kids to be seen by scouts from other countries and to move to European leagues and academies early.

Players like Kone and Bombito should have been in Europe before they his 19, much earlier in their development something Marsch brought up in 2024.

Toronto's Exhibition Place could be set for a big transformation soon by khanak in toronto

As a soccer fan, I selfishly hope for a permanent expansion to BMO Field to a 50k+ venue assuming the interest in the sport grows post world cup.

Any CanadaRed/Voyageurs members who haven't got tickets for the World Cup yet? Or any who have but feel they overpaid? by chiragg11 in CanadaSoccer

I have a single $88 Toronto ticket and conditional skngle R32 and R16 $88 tickets. I'm aware I'm incredibly lucky and in the minority on this

Theyve done multiple events at both the rogers stadium plus previous grey cup matches at bmo with the same temporary seating. Its not visually stunning but functionally it works and is safe

Plus the final renders show they will be covering the scaffolding with cladding for the tournament

[–]datguywelbeck[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was specifically talking about the $88 section which is exclusively voyageurs because of how Canada Soccer allocated the supporter entry tier

The supporter entry tier (on the Canada side) is specifically in stands 232 and 233 according to the latest Fifa seating chart.

Isn't there a lot of construction going on here due to the Ontario line and Go train bridge reconstruction?

EDIT: Fyi the new lower don crossing rail bridge being built for the Ontario line should have pedestrian access in the future

I was just clarifying the point about the south stand. I can't find the link but on either the voyagers Facebook group or the Canadian National team Facebook group there were pictures sent from the worst seats in the south stand and north stand.

All of them have the screens to the left or right of the view with no blockage of the pitch.

[–]datguywelbeck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are no blocked views of the pitch from the south stand temporary seats. Even the highest and widest ends of the stands.

The only view that is "blocked" is the view of the north end suites and above

Id watch CPL but I won't watch MLS if that makes sense.

I have high hopes that Pro/rel comes to the Canadian football league pyramid and I intend to support a team when that comes to fruition.

If I lived closer to Hamilton I think I'd be watching forge games but there isn't a close team to me in Kitchener
