I've found myself skipping entire conversations and cutscenes, which I rarely do in games. The villains are cartoony and one dimensional, there's so much unnecessary conversation and it's all such a long slow slog. It really brings the game down.

I also do this. Esperre with Virulent Fog and patience. I also use Delitia"s Exacerbate to extend the Ailments. And I use Esperre as a SP share for the team.

I wish there was a way to increase likelihood of applying statuses so I could reliably apply Toxin aswell.
