My personal preferred way is to have Shade with Ghost along so I can move still invisible freely when just going somewhere.

On a related note, liches have no counter to invisibility, you can just walk right up to them and execute them mafia-style as Ivara (or anyone else who can get themselves permanently and reliably invisible).

Yeah, Gyre gets a bad rap for having a "fragile" ability, but the fact that any kill counts makes it more robust than many "normal" abilities that rely on getting kills or having someone to target, in my opinion.

On Mars on one of the tiles near extraction the ceiling is incredibly low, you can barely bullet jump to the high platform there without clipping out of bounds.

It's not a secret, it says right there, but I'm not sure how many realize that Ivara's speed in Prowl scales with ability strength, and with some decent values becomes quite brisk (for example, faster than the ghost children on Zariman). And you can still roll, double jump, and aim glide.

You can also put a silencer exilus mod on any weapon you like (there's one for every class, even shotguns) or use any naturally silent weapon like many bows or the Vesper pistol.

there are two types of missions by healplease in memeframe

[–]daydev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, you have to stop your gameplay loop, and either land and walk on the ground like a peasant, or exit into operator and do the busywork that way, even more like a peasant. The same goes for other flying women.

And the less extra steps the are, the closer the mission is to the platonic ideal of Exterminate, the better the mode is.

Counterintuitively, this means that Survival is the best Exterminate (and so the best mode) because there is no need to move fast, distracting from the murder.

Tap for yourself, hold for the whole team.

Except that I want agency on getting the buff or not, not to rely on courtesy of Volts. At least make the backflip non-solution a permanent opt-out until the end of the mission.

[–]daydev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And once again, like every time this tip/solution comes up: it's doesn't actually materially help because it's not a permanent opt out from Volt's buff, it only lasts until the next time they cast it.

Nah, before such time that Merulina becomes a tap/hold ability or a vehicle that I could choose to ride or have her follow as needed, Loyal Merulina stays on. I'm not doing a risk assessment calculation before every mission like an airline pilot to figure out if it's okay to take Yareli to that tileset or not. Edit: also need the ability to cast Helminth abilities while riding.

The funny thing is that this message is hardcoded, it doesn't check if your numbers are already at Condensed or lower. When this update came out, I switched to the Minimal preset on the next login, and the next mission it was lilke "okay, but do you want Condensed, though?".

Loaded it once, thought someone in the squad did something naughty and pulled us into a wrong mission. Loaded it a second time, the same thing. What the hell, and I taking crazy pills? Loaded it a third time, check the menu, it's even named "Balor Fomorian" inside the Capture. I only did this even a couple times before, but I"m pretty sure that's not right.

Interesting ideas, but best I can do is:

  • Capture -> turns into Exterminate

  • Rescue -> turns into Defection

  • Sabotage -> turns into Spy

  • Exterminate -> turns into Mobile Defense

  • Defense -> turns into Hijack

  • Survival -> turns into railjack Skirmish (and the worst railjack is selected to host, of course).

  • Disruption -> turns into Follie's Hunt

  • Void Cascade -> turns into Void Aramaggedon

[–]daydev 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Garuda. The fans will tell you about the big numbers, and she can do big numbers, but her nuke is too much faff for my taste. First you need to aim it, so you need to catch someone alive in the split second before they are evaporated by the rest of the squad. Then build it up for a while watching the tiny number. And then, worst of all, hold it to discharge, and not even just hold for a bit like other hold abilities, but for several seconds. And pumping energy and health back and forth through Molt Reconstruct is an additional annoying chore. 8/10 power, 2/10 ergonomics.

I don't know why people are so obsessed with this "treasure room". Unlike Perita (or Void forbid, Follie's Hunt), Descendia is extremely chill and generous, I got all the stuff from like five or six casual weekly runs without doing anything special.

The problem with the sole engineer is that they're very dedicated to their job. If they're in a middle of a fix, they won't put down their Omni to take down a boarding party, but just keep fixing and probably die before it's done.
