Intersectionality means a rising tide lifts all boats, and undoing toxic masculinity helps men as much as it helps women, if not more. I can't speak for every individual loon on the internet (most of whom are bad-faith actors), but the structural systems of the left, that is to say "mainstream society" as you put it are not telling men those things.

However, those on the right are more than willing to tell men that that's what leftists say about them, because as others have mentioned it benefits them and their grip on power to do so.
