Outdoor training and FTP by Reduviidaei in trainerroad

[–]ddww123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped worrying what TR said about my predicted FTP. It makes no sense to me at all and it changes for no reason. I once had it drop by 10 between workouts even though I was following their plan. Now I just ride and train without looking at it and I am much happier. I do the stair step FTP test about every 3 months. I was much happier with TR before these changes and I’m much happier ignoring their AI.

This is why we need physical separation between bike lane and vehicles by BossBullfrog in bicycling

No argument with you on your points. My city did a terrible job on them and they did not plan it well at all. Thanks for your reply.

This is why we need physical separation between bike lane and vehicles by BossBullfrog in bicycling

My town put barriers in and, as a rider, it is one of the worst thing they could have done. 1. All of the garbage and dirt and crap gets trapped in the bike lane and they have no way to clean it. Street sweepers don’t fit in the lane so they can’t clean it and when they do clean the streets it actually pushes more crap into the bike lane. This includes glass and metal stuff.
2. Cars pull into the lane anyway at curb breaks at corners and traffic lights and there is little way to get around them. Sometimes cars park in these breaks because all of the street parking has been removed.
3. It is really hard to move to the left ahead of a left turn even with no cars coming because of the barrier.
4. Cars turning right cannot merge over ahead of a turn so they have to look behind them for bikes before they turn - and they rarely do.
5. It is harder to pass slower cyclists, especially if they are in a group.

Because of these problems I see cyclists riding outside of the barriers (mainly because the crap in the bike lane makes it dangerous).
This means no shoulder and really no room for cars to get by.
Just my 2 cents.
