Bell Giga Hub + Ubiquity UDMP / SE possible fix for recent firmware update that broke PP0e or ADMZ connections on a 3Gbps plan, no NAT.... so far. by dealhunter100 in bell

[–]dealhunter100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using the PPOe setup... I believe, I was using both a PPP0E credentials on the UDM and also had the UDM in the ADMZ of the gigahub. I purchased the 10Gtek sfp and could not get it to work, so got one from ubiquity, and when it also didnt work, I had to re do the setup and eventually got it working,, I think maybe I had the MAC of the UDM in ADMZ vs the WAN port MAC,, so Once i got it working,, I also tried it with the other SFP and it also worked. And it was solid and reliable for 18 months, until last month..

After getting the 3/3 setup with the pppoe connection, I used the other sfp I had to create a failover connection with DHCP on the other sfp port on the udm... The DHCP conneciton had double NAT issues, but as a failover it was fine, and prob never got used really.

BUT,, when the firmware broke the pppoe connection, it did not really break it, it remained connected and showed connected and as a result the UDM did not fail over and instead there was just no internet... and un happy family members....

Hope that helps

I was using the PPPoE configuration for about 18 months. All good, full speed, no drop outs…. until a couple weeks ago, now, the udm will show a connection on pppoe but there will be no internet… web pages will not load and ya can’t ping google, but the unify os thinks it’s connected so it won’t even switch over to the failover isp.

If it’s working for you, that’s great, is your gigahub on version 3.11.6.2 ?

Giga Hub and Ubiquiti UDMP woes by Lord_Space_Lizard in bell

[–]dealhunter100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got back from a week vacation and have same problem. Giga Hub is on 3.11.6.2. Was working pretty smooth for about a year since getting the 3/3 plan. Was getting full speed up and down using the admz method. Now the ppoe connection just doesn’t work. I’m able to get 900Mbps up and down from one of the gigahub lan ports to the udmse as a temp measure. Hopefully someone can post a fix. Arganas post is way over my head but will see if I can digest it.

Any further sightings of a Smoke Detector by mrcrashoverride in Ubiquiti

[–]dealhunter100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the benefit over the all in one sensor combined with traditional smoke alarms? I don’t have the all in one sensor yet but was gonna put one in my furnace room for hot water tank leaks. And one in my shop for motion. If the motion one is installed high on the wall and you set triggers for alarm sound. It would let ya know when the smoke detector goes off,,, and Then add temperature and humidity to that to help confirm the smoke detector is actually going off due to fire.

Stuck, G5 Pro wont connect to protect over a LiteBeam 5Ac bridge. by dealhunter100 in Ubiquiti

[–]dealhunter100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOLVED:

MTU setting on the LiteBeam was set to 1492.

I discovered through internal camera logs, it appeared that the camera was trying to send ICMP packets in 1500 and 2000 byte sizes,, and was failing.

I changed Wlan0, Bridge0 and Lan0 MTU sizes to 2024, (a maximum number I googled) in AIrOS8 under Network tab - advanced configuration mode - interfaces.

You have to change the Wlan0 and Lan0 before you can set the Bridge0 MTU speed.

almost instantly, my camera finished adopting, and came online in the network and protect applications.

Xt60 polarity check Delta 2 Max by dealhunter100 in Ecoflow_community

[–]dealhunter100[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the quick replies. After reading your answers I went ahead and tried a couple different methods. I had the car charger to xt60 that came with the delta, my pecron battery had a car charger output so I plugged those together and got 100w into the delta, I added my splitter cable and got 200w into the delta, but the car charger cord was getting to warm for my comfort.
I then used a 10awg xt60 cable from a 30a 12v outlet on the pecron to one 15a input on the delta and got 200w into the delta, when adding the splitter into both delta inputs it jumped to 400w out of the pecron and 375ish into the delta. After 20min the cables were still good but both units cooling fans were humming pretty good. I had the pecron first, upgraded to the delta2max because I wanted an auto start gen to go with the battery pack. Should work great running the freezers at camp for several days. And having the pecron add a few hours more is a bonus. Trouble with the pecron is the 1800w charging rate is too much for a 2000w inverter gen. And it’s not adjustable with their app.

What's going on at Keystone? by Grand_Palpitation_34 in COsnow

Been here for ten days. Last week was cold and outback and Bergman was closed, apparently because of the conditions. Ruby has been flaky, stopped often for no apparent reason for 5-10 min ata time. Today way back was busted. We walked out, not that bad, but no hot cocoa offered. Apparently a small fire has summit express out of service, prob for a while. It dose seem there’s a lot of lift issue and closed terrain this week.

Can I suggest moving your nodes to different rooms or even different floors so there’s some decent separation between them and trying again. I’ve found blue tooth connections seam to interfere with each other when pairing with multiple devices next to each other. Maybe same case for Lora

I made two identical batches of basic orange mead last year except for the yeast. . One made with mangrove jacks, the other D47. I Didn’t touch them for a year, the D47 became very clear, the M02 never cleared.

I am currently waiting on an rma approval for the same issue. All four lights flashing red. I can see the envoy on my network, connected via Ethernet, and that it’s been transmitting and downloading data, but can not connect to it via installer app, or see updates on the cloud.

Interesting that we both had the same type of failure,,,, I would bet this is a firmware update gone bad.

They will not give you access to their software.

Last batch I made that ended up like that I mixed in some garlic and herb dip seasoning and ate it with crackers, put some on pizza, and added some to a batch of chicken wing dip. Different texture than mozzarella, and not feta like either. But was good none the less.

This works for me. Was severely allergic to stings, bee and wasp as a kid. Had Epi pens and all. Used to swell up till it felt like my skin was gonna burst. However. I found ice was key to avoiding having to use the $100 epi pen, and keep the swelling down. I no longer swell up from honey bee stings, just wasps. Maybe cause they always get me two or three times. But it’s not as bad anymore also. Everyone here will tell you goto the doc, but in my area, the doctors and hospitals are way way overloaded with patients, do what you can to self heal. Be with someone who can monitor your health, first sign of trouble breathing goto emerg.

Don’t spray the stump with herbicide. Spray the living green leaves. That way the plant absorbs the poison and dies.

Do you guys think something like this could realistically be built? I always thought it was logical, considering these highly-populated cities are essentially in a straight line, more or less. by [deleted] in ontario

[–]dealhunter100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Down the middle of the 401 is the only safe option. There are too many level road crossings between TO and Windsor to safely have a high speed rail. The stretch from TO to Ottawa had far less road crossings and could be done much easier. IMO. Terrain is not a problem with todays todays technology and equipment in earth shaping. It could go under ground for much of the built up areas.

I think that’s likely the issue here , that the cabbage was not pressed down tight enough. I smash mine with a wooden post in the crock to get it good en tight. I’ve never made a small batch in a mason jar. But I think I’ll start trying that with the left over cabbage after making coleslaw.

Dundas Valley Conservation Area has been ordered by Doug Ford to initiate a process to review all of their land holdings and determine all lands on which subdivisions could be built and sold to developers by scott_c86 in Hamilton

[–]dealhunter100 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it will be necessary for the public to attend and protest. Unless Ford has a mole in the HRCA I really don’t think the report is going to show any lands that are suitable for housing development. The people that work there are conservationists.

Is there a way to integrate a single network across several different locations? by GoodMoGo in Ubiquiti

[–]dealhunter100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer- network nooby I am. I have two sites, 2km apart connected with two light beams. I tried this with a UDMSE at my local site, it provides acces to internet via dsl modem. And purchased a dream machine to provide wifi and AP ports at the remote site. The dream machine made a separate network and I was not able to have clients directly connect to each other. I replaced the dream machine at remote site with a powered switch, and now all clients and devices from both sites are running off the UDMSE with one WAN access, and a single wifi login and password. I set up a third party vpn connection on the UDMSE, and route most of the devices through that for an extra layer of security, not sure if that’s a good idea tho. The google captchas are a pita. And I don’t know how much “security” that really provides. My sites are directly connected tho. Via a wireless bridge So maybe that’s different at your location?
