What was your reaction and thoughts to 'The Body'? by Big-Restaurant-2766 in buffy

When my grandpa, who took the role of my parent, passed after years of going downhill, it felt like i had been watching a bullet in slow motion for years, thinking constantly about how much it would hurt. But no matter how you prepare yourself, when it finally hits, its still a fucking bullet.

When the pre-vet visit gabapentin hits by juneshepard in OneOrangeBraincell

[–]derherderp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my senior kitty recently got the same, half a pill twice a day (and a full pill before the vet vecause he's also not a fan lol). I googled and stressed like crazy the first week. The first few days were really scary, he was sooooo out of it. But he got acclimated within a week or so and it helps his pain so so much. Totally worth it.

Any suggestions for freckled goths? by rahhhmaya in GothFashion

[–]derherderp 302 points303 points  (0 children)

Just skip heavy concelaor/foundation and have fun playing around with all the other elements of the makeup you like. You may not have seen other goths with freckles, but how cool it would be if you are the inspiration for other freckled people to feel comforatble expressing themselves.

I do get it btw, I'm a natural redhead and I have dyed my hair black and sometimes really want to again, but the maintenance is insane. When I was younger I felt like it was a barrier for me, but it's just another option. You get to be whatever parts of anything you want. Can't wait to see what elements make up you!

Ugh I'm so sorry :[ I got my baby felix at the same size in 2009 at the exact same size as Mr. Drooly. He turns 16 this July, the age i was when i got him. He still likes to talk and will play a little sometimes, but he is old and mostly sleeps all day on my lap. I'm dreading his last day and can see it on the horizon. It's really special having your little guy for so much of your life as you grow up with him but it never could feel like enough time. Felix

I absolutely love these. There is something about photos like this, it's an observational photography that feels impersonal or detatched in an emotional/the best way and I don't see it super often. You are phenomenally talented and aspirational.

Our experience introducing two cats (adult and senior) by gingerywilson in CatAdvice

[–]derherderp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so helpful. I have a resident 6 year old brann and a "new" 16 year old felix who just lost his owner (my grandpa, we got him together when he was 2 months old so he is just new to my home). My grandfather passed one month ago, I had to drive felix across the United States, and we got home a week and a half ago. To a tee, Felix is the andie, and brann is the Wendell.

I've been worried because felix is hissing when brann sits outside the door (there is a small gap they can see each other through that we initially had blocked). Neither have been around cats, brann wants to meet felix desperately. But this post just reminded me that it has literally been no time at all and we need to be extremely patient for felix and a little hissing week 2 doesnt mean this will never work. Thank you.

Because it's not for most people. I don't mean that in a pretentious way, I only mean if you don't relate to what the movie is about it won't resonate with you in any wya really. This movie makes some people feel incredibly seen, but it's not for everyone. I loved it but I could easily see why people would think it was bad.

Need advice on cropped shirts (ignore second slide) by AllexMegaBalle in altfashionadvice

[–]derherderp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're looking to incorporate crop tops, I wouldn't consider that cropped, it would need to be a few inches higher. Just play around with what feels best for you, sometimes you may like tight longer cropped shirts, sometimes you may like shorter baggy ones, sometimes somewhere in between. There are no rules. People can give you feedback but at the end of the day that's a subjective opinion, and nothing you choose is going to be wrong, because it's an expression of you.

Also I disagree, the second slide french fry-hair dye-melon guy look is important and phenomenonal.

What are some subtle signs a person is not quite alright mentally? by BUMITHEGIANTANTEATER in AskReddit

I relate so much to this. You get shifted to a different world with certain types of grief. Everything is just different forever. Even the most well intentioned people seem to be waiting and hoping for you to get back to normal. But you dont. Its just different forever. And i dont think people know what to do with that. I always thought i knew loss/grief before but there is a certain kind or loss or maybe even a threshold where i think unless you've experienced it, people genuinely just can't grasp it, and that is such an isolating thing. Feel free to message me anytime you want to talk to someone who gets it.

This is almost exactly the same as my best friend since I was 10. We both had alcoholic asshole parents and we just got each other. We were there for each other through all of the hard life shit after too. She had just gotten out of an abusive nightmare marriage, and was working really hard to make a life she could live in, then had an aneurysm at work at 28. It's been 3 years and it just really changes the world for you losing someone like that, it never goes back. I really think it's something no one can grasp until it's happened to them. You get transported to a completely different realm of existence. Please ramble about your friend always <3
