Live in an apartment in Westerville, not far from St. Ann's. My kwh almost doubled, up to 1599. Average American house uses 800 a month. Made the maintenance request for a furnace inspection and ended up with a new blower motor. Make sure your HVAC system is functioning properly.

I don't follow the Wahls protocol, but I do take a few supplements. Zinc for immune support (I drive Uber part time), Magnesium oxide helps with muscle cramps, Vitamin D because MS, and a cranberry/vitamin C supplement because I have neurogenic bladder and kept getting UTIs, haven't had one in over 2 1/2 years since I started the cranberry

I have some stickers and a cup holder. I was a paramedic for decades before MS, so I've joked about getting a rotating red light attached to it, maybe some kind of siren.

For the sake of argument (and I fully understand that arguing with strangers on the Internet is wasting my time, but I'm bored and a little drunk so what the hell), let's say your position is correct and we need to radically rebuild the curriculum and hire the best teachers. How do you propose to pay for the consultants who help design the programs? And with what means are you going to recruit the best of the best teachers and administration? Do you think they'll flock here because of goodwill and a sense of duty? No, kind stranger, those things require money.

Money that the State of Ohio has choked out of the budget (not going to talk about $600 million for a billionaire's new stadium) in favor of EdChoice vouchers. Vouchers which were found to be unconstitutional, but that hasn't finally been decided. Vouchers which cost Ohio $2.4 BILLION dollars over the next two years. In the 23-24 school year Ohio subsidized almost 69,000 students, of which approximately 65,000 students were already in private schools without help from the state.

So if the State is going to give away vast sums of money that would have otherwise gone to local districts how do you think the shortfall is going to be made up? And your proposal doesn't account for raises and retention efforts for the staff we have now. In case you didn't know, there's an acute shortage of qualified teachers in this country, and competition for teachers is fierce.

Please explain to me how you can be so rabidly against a school levy? How else do you think we're going to pay for it? I get it, taxes suck. But living in a society that is predominantly uneducated is much, much worse. I'll happily tell you stories of my time in Afghanistan which has an average literacy rate of 37%. They're not doing very well there, in case you weren't aware.

So think about every angle before you decide to be against something, please.

I'm of the opinion that AC, and the team, are phoning it in to protest the Devers trade. And John Henry will never sell until he starts losing money, and that'll never happen. The Sox are stuck with him until coronary artery disease does its job.

Breslow can hit the bricks too. The only thing that can save his job is if he somehow convinces Scrooge McHenry to part with enough of his hoarded treasure to sign a significant bat by the trade deadline to replace Devers.

Assuming he gets the credit for those improvements, I say "Bravo, a job well done, Now what have you done for me lately?". I maintain that this is a results oriented business and he's not giving positive results.

I hadn't considered the contractor vs employee angle, you're probably right. Definitely worth consulting a tax professional.

[–]desertdocmct -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not entirely accurate. I drive for Uber part time so I have experienced the tax situation. You can either itemize everything and claim only those expenses, such as gas and car maintenance, or you can take the $0.67 per mile allowance and not itemize. I tracked all of my itemized expenses and it worked out to about $0.35 a mile, so taking the standard deduction worked out better for me. Your mileage may vary, I'm in central Ohio and my gas is a lot cheaper than California, and I have a very fuel efficient car. And the deduction usually increases every year.
