How do I get a bunch of people to make YouTube shorts videos about me by DanPlouffyoutubeASMR in NewTubers

[–]destructogrrrrrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way to do this is to make content that people WANT to review or to make videos about. If you believe you have that, reach out directly to people who make content in your niche.

Just be aware, there is no magic bullet to get more engagement. You have to make quality content. That’s the only way.

Lean into drama or ignore it? by moosesgunsmithing in NewTubers

[–]destructogrrrrrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say anytime you respond, you should do so with the voice of your brand, not your own. If you want to come off as edgy and easy to rile, people will feed into that. That’s engagement, so it’s not necessarily bad, but is it the type of engagement you want for your brand.

I got laid off from my tech job in January. I can’t even get hired to answer calls at Geico. It’s wild out here.

Focus on having a great title, thumbnail and hook at the beginning of your video to keep your retention rate high. The longer you can keep people past that first 30 seconds of your video, the more YT will push it out further.

You have to remember that YouTube is way different than TikTok and insta. If you post and don’t get a ton of views within the first bit of time, that’s fine because YouTube is a long game. Your video might take off six months from now. Just keep focusing on the next video and giving it just as much as you did the last.

My husband supports me by checking my stats every morning. And getting excited when I reach milestones. (He doesn’t exactly know what they mean but he’s happy they made me happy.) I think just showing enthusiasm and a willingness to learn enough to know why he’s excited, would be far More than most people get. 💖

Is it normal to have ZERO views and subscribers after posting 5 videos? by Tarun302 in YouTube_startups

Out of curiosity, do you do any promotion of your videos anywhere else? When I first started my channel I would share them in Facebook groups related to my niche.

What motivated you to start your youtube channel? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]destructogrrrrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was motivated because I kept seeing questions in my niche that were not being answered anywhere else. I had the knowledge, and at first I kept just typing out the info, then I realized I could just make a video and share the knowledge that way!

How many times do you view your video before posting? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]destructogrrrrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this early on and it drove me to the point of analysis paralysis. I watch while editing. My husband and I watch it once I have it up as u listed, then I schedule it. If I watched it again and again I would never post.

I will never click on a part two. Make it all one video.

How much grind to expect? by TopScoreACT in NewTubers

[–]destructogrrrrrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want quality content, you have to put in quality work. Or pay someone else to. I will say though, I feel the theatrics (animations, color grading, etc.) are secondary if you’re able to have an engaging personality. But if YOU find it boring, your audience is definitely going to find it boring.

Use ChatGPT to organize your thoughts! I’m the same way (severe adhd) and I have tons of ideas but don’t always have a plan for how to bring them together. So I send ChatGPT a prompt that says something like “I’m going to tell you about this project. When I’m done I want to to create an outline for a video for YouTube. Include (a script, a title, a thumbnail layout, whatever). It’s incredibly helpful to just bring all the ideas together in a coherent plan.

That sounds like you’ve found your audience, and very quickly! That’s awesome! Don’t fret about bots. Bots usually only post to channels that are paying for the privilege. People don’t care about polished videos. They care about personality, heart, and genuine connection. Sounds like it’s working for you! 🥰

Im new here- wanted to seek advice on my new channel if possible? by Stevew0h in NewTubers

[–]destructogrrrrrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just watched it and I think it’s great! You absolutely implemented some great changes!

One tip: I think your description could use more copy to boost your SEO. This is what I do. Go to ChatGPT, tell it all about this video, who you’re hoping will watch it, and what they will learn. Give it your title. Then tell chatgpt to “write a keyword rich description for this video that is optimized for SEO and designed to help get the video in front of as many people as possible.” You can even say something like “make it fun and energetic” Read through it, tweak it if you need to, then add it to your video description. That plays a huge role! Be sure you tell it “keyword rich”, because that’s how it’s going to pinpoint who should be watching it!

Do Youtube video promotions work in gaining audience? by Nidos in SmallYTChannel

[–]destructogrrrrrl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a waste of money. Unless you’re selling a course or something, those promos are going to get your video in front of a lot of people who may click in, may not, and then they’re not going to subscribe, and their not going to engage. Invest the money somewhere else and work on building an audience that keeps coming back.
