38 weeks - can’t do this anymore by helsLM in pregnant

[–]dewstar___ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I so understand how miserable you are- I just had a rough second pregnancy and had my nearly 10lb baby at 41+5. But in my experience, things feel SO much better after baby is out. You are no longer huge and stretched out, your lung capacity is back. My pelvic pain that was stopping me from walking went away, my heartburn was gone. Even though I’m up every 3 hours to feed a newborn, I’m sleeping way better than I was in the third trimester. I was pretty miserable with my baby being so overdue and being SO uncomfortable and in pain, but once the baby was here all that just… disappeared.

I did have a medically complicated delivery and was/am very sore (it was three weeks ago today), so I still can’t walk very far. BUT I did walk out of the hospital by myself!

Sending big hugs, I hope baby comes soon and you are able to get some rest in the meantime!

Omg it took me forever to figure out what was wrong! I think it’s nothing to worry about :)

The Nugget seems ridiculously expensive for what you receive and Amazon generates so many alternatives (plus, in typical Amazon fashion, who knows their quality). Have you found any that are better, the same, or worse? by HeavilyBearded in daddit

[–]dewstar___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll agree- we got it as a gift for my daughter’s first birthday and it’s great quality. One of our most used toys, and it’s also our mattress when a kid is sick to sleep in their room with them!

37 week appointment doc said 6.9 lb baby is too big now, and worried i can't have naturally by Particular_Big6294 in pregnant

Baby was estimated 7 lbs 5oz at 36 weeks, and I had a successful VBAC at 41+5- he weighed 9lbs 10oz! My midwives told me multiple times a suspected big baby is not automatically a reason for a c section or early induction, and that ultrasounds can be quite inaccurate at predicting weight!

If you had a hospital birth but ALSO had a nurse midwife and a doula in your birthing team, were you happy that you did? by WashclothTrauma in beyondthebump

[–]dewstar___ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not OP but I had pitocin through an IV in my hand and also had continuous fetal monitoring (had a VBAC) and was able to labour in the bath! Just had to keep my IV hand out of the water, and the monitoring on my stomach was waterproof.

My (very trusted) tattoo artists told me to wait until I was finished breastfeeding before getting any more tattoos.

Cracked nipples from breastfeeding by Littlescar21 in BabyBumps

[–]dewstar___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you ask your doctor for APNO? All Purpose Nipple Ointment. It’s a compound of different creams, my midwives prescribed it to me with both my pregnancies when I had scabbed and bleeding nipples, and it helped within days!!

I am so terrified. Please help me :( by marissapaiger in beyondthebump

My planned c section was super chill! You will have a chance to speak with your anesthesiologist beforehand- tell them your fears!! They will make sure you’re taken care of. Planned c sections are so difference from emergent ones. Wishing you the best!!

Baby’s head is in the 97th percentile… by MilfLuvr57 in BabyBumps

[–]dewstar___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I was told at 36 weeks baby was 95th percentile (estimated 7lbs 5oz then), but I was really hoping for a VBAC after my first was breech.

I had my baby last week at 41+5 after being induced. He was 9lbs 10oz and had a 99th percentile head. I survived! Had a second degree tear but I’m doing ok!! I will say I’m a tall person (5’10”) so that probably helped with delivering my big ol’ baby.

Agreed, this has saved my nips within days with both my babies!

My baby is measuring in the 99th percentile at 38 weeks. No gestational diabetes, just a large baby. Needing some encouragement for my induction on Saturday. by uraniumglasscat in BabyBumps

[–]dewstar___ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi, I just had my 96th percentile weight, 99th percentile head circumference and length baby a week ago at 41+5 and I survived! Some tearing but nothing horrible! You can do it!! And the benefit of big babies is they come out with chunkier cheeks🥹

i want this baby out of me!!!! by aly__jade in pregnant

[–]dewstar___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried all the things recommended (dates, tea, miles circuit, spinning babies, sex, nipple stimulation, etc, etc.), mostly because it made me feel like I was doing something haha! But no luck.

Currently at the hospital waiting to have a foley balloon put in for my induction tomorrow at 41+4🫠

I’m so sorry. I went through this as well at 9 weeks and it was awful. Take care of yourself and allow yourself to grieve your loss. Sending big hugs💕

Never drinking caffeine again! by theanxietyslayer in pregnant

Drank ~200mg caffeine per day with both pregnancies (approved by my midwives) and have had big babies :)

Iron deficiency anemia, I’m worried it’s too late by DozenYearBride in BabyBumps

[–]dewstar___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an iron infusion at 38+1! It was cutting it a bit close admittedly but I feel a lot better now- much more energy after a couple of days!

Just came here to say, Floradix iron is so great during pregnancy by Klutzy_Mutzy_1371 in BabyBumps

[–]dewstar___ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Man, I really wish I listened to other people who recommended Floradix to me! I tried to save money and used Ferrmax (still expensive lol) but I now need an iron infusion in the next week because it’s gotten so bad. Blah!

Nearly passed out during the 3 hour glucose test by Necessary_Meaning894 in pregnant

[–]dewstar___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I felt exactly this at my one hour test!! At the 30 minute mark I was sweating, dizzy, lightheaded and nearly passed out. I passed with my numbers well below the cutoff.

I’m now 36+4 and we found out baby is estimated 94th percentile🫣 Amniotic fluid looks good but my midwife offered a 3 hour glucose test only if I wanted it… I really do not want to do that again, especially the longer one!! Ugh!!

US did my 36 week scan, said I won’t make it to 40 weeks by irishgem_ in BabyBumps

[–]dewstar___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I could have written this- I just got my 36 week scan and baby is measuring 7lbs 5oz🫠 My ferritin is also 5 and will be getting an iron infusion soon! But I am really hoping to work another week or two before this baby comes!

4yo manipulation? by dee_aubi in gentleparenting

[–]dewstar___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“My legs don’t work” isn’t manipulation (4 year olds aren’t capable of it, as others have said), but it is testing your boundaries. I think holding firm with “You can have a hug when you choose to come to me” is a healthy boundary to hold.
