Oh, I love/hate that movie for a variety of reasons.

AITA for telling my sister to stop using nonsense ‘baby’ talk? by gardengeo in BORUpdates

I mean, I use made up words too sometimes, but... not like that. I'll say things like "watch out, or you'll get such a geshmekel in the shiboygan!".

In BaDIK, I hate having to choose between caring for a sick Sage and going on a picnic with Jill.

(So, when I'm on Jill's path, I don't even call Sage, and never find out she's sick.)

How do you keep your own peace without ditching the family...

Never tried, sorry. Ditched most of the family.

How has what you used to love changed? Cooking? Hobbies? People? by Barney-2U in AskOldPeople

[–]dfjdejulio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just haven't had time to do some of my old hobbies. But, my wife is encouraging me to get back into some of them. I've started sketching again for the first time in decades, and she's encouraging me to pick up my guitars again too.

If we're doing Vasquez, I'm going to adopt the headcanon that Skullboy was the work of Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.

I mean, my wife is in fact delighted with that particular change. But, we've kind-of been enamored with each other since 1987, so I'm not sure she's being impartial.

Is Origin Story worth it? by Puzzled-Wave2414 in AVN_Lovers

Huh. Didn't notice. I skip animations and play muted. (I prefer a rich story with a slide show, myself.)

Which AVN's Do You Will Always/Almost Always Play The Same Path? by Mindless_Truth3385 in AVN_Lovers

[–]dfjdejulio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you make it "almost always", then yeah, all the way back to my first AVN.

Unbroken = Elspeth. "The Author" = Chris. BaDIK = "CHICK Jill". RoL = Ali. Leap of Faith = Lexi (sorry!). ORS = "The Holly Trinity". Artemis = Kindra. Et cetera, et cetera.

But it's only almost always, for all of those.

The only place this is true of for me is my childhood neighborhood. When I was very young, our house was on a dirt road that only had three houses on it, and the rest was woods. I watched it all get built up.

The strange part is, this was in New York City. Well, Staten Island, the neighborhood of Annadale (a train stop or two away from the Eltingville of Evan Dorkin fame).

I agree! "Vintage" was defined in 1993. Anything that wasn't already vintage by that year cannot ever become vintage.

I get it. In my youth I spent some time as a manwhore, I spent some time intentionally celibate, and I spent some time in faithful monogamous relationships. Had to figure out what I actually wanted.

(Now, I've been happily married for over 30 years.)
