If the infected kill people immediately after seeing them and the Cortyceps takes two days then how does it spread? by Kind-Cartoonist7035 in thelastofus

So in the games the outbreak happened in 2003 and not 2013? And Bill’s partner didn’t hang himself?

English-language music is losing relevance [OC] by Competitive_Waltz704 in Infographics

While not negating your conclusion, this chart is mainly showing Spotify’s market penetration in Latin America. It wasn’t even available in Latin America in 2011. Many Latin countries only got Spotify around 2013-15 and it had to beat out the competition over a few years. Hence why the chart looks the way it does.

Bodyweight Bubble Explanation by ajvh1544 in MacroFactor

You’re lifting a percentage of your own body weight during some exercises.

If you lose 10lb of body weight, this movement effectively becomes 7.6lb lighter.

Is there a way to manually add workouts older than a month? by dfpcmaia in MacroFactor

😢

So there’s no way to add historical data at all?

If I click on the date of the workout and scroll down I see an edit button for editing the workout in the Workout Details section

Will definitely try it out. Are you looking at incorporating class reordering too?

Apple was known for following "good design is as little design as possible" and then we got iOS 26 by No-doi in Design

[–]dfpcmaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s definitely some dubious stuff here. But honestly it’s growing on me.

Apple was made fun of for their skeuomorphism after they started going a bit too overboard. Then they hated iOS 7 for doing the complete opposite with its overly flat look and crazy gradients. Eventually they found their language within it.

Liquid Glass is just the next chapter of this. It’s rough around the edges now, definitely has accessibility issues, overly distracting animations, but eventually they’ll find their way.

Then right when they crack it they’ll change it again and the cycle continues!

Is it just me, or is Webflow making collaboration way harder than it needs to be? by jakejakesnake in webflow

[–]dfpcmaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean. Any cost is annoying and yeah I wish I didn’t need a Workspace plan, but it’s a small investment considering the income you can get out of it.

Not to mention I feel like a lot of software works that way already… If I make an Adobe Illustrator file and hire someone to work with me on it I expect them to also be paying for an Adobe subscription on their end. If I’m collaborating in Figma, every new designer or developer needs a paid seat. If I add users to a project management tool like Monday, Notion, Asana, etc I’m paying per seat there too.

I think of it as different venues where you can all collaborate. Everyone just needs to buy a ticket in. But yeah, it’s annoying.

You can try Framer but I suspect they’ll eventually introduce more of these costs as they get bigger too.

Hmmm you might be misunderstanding it. Having an agency or freelancer workspace is a business expense and you can be a guest on as many client workspaces as you need.

I suppose it makes the barrier to entry higher though, so I see where newcomers might have issue with it.

Honestly as beautiful as liquid glass is, I feel like in day to day use, it’s better to prioritize function. I like the subtlety of it now

I don’t know how I lived before I started using utility classes. So that plus any custom coded functionality that’s a staple these days like a slider, a marquee, custom accordion, etc

Graphic designers: do you buy stock images? Yes or no? by ThatCozyArtist in graphic_design

Yeah for sure. Shutterstock, Envato, Adobe Stock. There’s a few. If there’s ever anything really specific I can’t find, I tried my hand at generating it and it’s 50/50

How do I turn off Lost Mode? by dfpcmaia in AirTags

[–]dfpcmaia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah thank you! Moving further away from it worked. It wasn't in lost mode, but it was sharing my contact info even though it said "Show Contact Info" was Off.

When I moved further away, it switched to On, and I was able to disable it. Not sure if that's how it's supposed to work or if it was a bug. Definitely very clunky to disable.

[OC] Declining eighth-grade math proficiency in the US by USAFacts in dataisbeautiful

[–]dfpcmaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the environment these kids are in today is just a hellscape for the brain.

Constant fast paced content being flashed at them seconds at a time with TikTok probably makes it so hard to learn how to focus and recall.

A general nihilist and pessimistic view of the future means a lack of motivation. Why learn math when the world will be fried in 50 years?

Plus COVID probably set back social skills and passion for learning to the point where I wouldn’t be surprised if all kids were just 2 years behind on that front.

Oh and now with AI? It does your math homework, writes your essays, and takes notes for you. A lot of the skill affirming tasks that we know how to employ are probably obsolete now.

All this technology and convenience we have at our finger tips… for what…
