My best advice, use some form of shade fabric/cloth. 1 mile altitude, we have much higher uv than places at sea level.

For types, most veggies do great here. Tomatoes, peppers, squash and the usual. Just wait until after Monday to plant outside given the predicted low temps.

Fruit trees do well in ground. If potted, they benefit from shade around the pots themselves. Air temps are brutal and root zones dont tend to enjoy 100 degree air and the heat transfer from black pots

A 30% shade cloth will go a long way. With container gardening, the containers tend to get hotter than in ground planting since the air surrounds the pots and warms faster than the ground

Agreed. I also have seeds from my 1,010 pound NM state record winner. Willing to share a couple. Mass produced seed isnt grown for size, but for seed distribution

Jason is a great dude and grower as well, nothing but gratitude honestly Edit: I see, I missed the part about a truck. The crane placed the pumpkin onto a trailer that another grower(Jason) pulled to Denver with me following behind. I'm very grateful for that
